Malrik’s POV
My eyes widened in shock the moment I turned around to see Nyxara. For a moment, my mind couldn't comprehend what had just happened. She had pushed me away from the silver blade path and it hit her instead.
Her body crumbled to the ground.
“Nyxara!” Her name left my lips before I could even stop myself. The masked men exchanged nervous glances then slowly took a step back.
One of them let out a cold, mocking chuckle. "We'll be back.”
With that, they ran back into the woods. I dropped to my knees next to her.
