THE NEXT DAY
Angeline went back to the hospital alone and looked in Leo’s hospital room. He was awake and there were fewer tubes in him. There was a guard stationed outside his room. He looked at Angeline with sympathy. “Lady Luna, it's advised that you not go in there alone.”
“But I can go in there, right?” Angeline asked in earnest. “I need answers. I need to know why my brother betrayed us, betrayed me.”
“Yes, Lady Luna, you can go there. It is merely advised that you don’t go in there alone.”
“I understand. Thank you for caring,” Angeline said, putting her hand on his shoulder.
“I just don’t want to see you get hurt. No one does, especially your grandmother or the Master Alpha. You are a good person, too good for this. Just remember that nothing he says can hurt you.”
