Chapter 10: The Little Lantern Festival The sun was just beginning to rise over Happy Meadow when Benny Bunny woke up with a big smile. He stretched his paws, looked out of his window, and noticed colorful ribbons hanging from the trees. "Today is the Lantern Festival!" Benny said excitedly. Every year, all the animals in Happy Meadow gathered to celebrate friendship, kindness, and hope. Families decorated the meadow with flowers, music filled the air, and everyone carried a glowing lantern after sunset. Benny packed his little red backpack with a bottle of water, a carrot sandwich, an apple, and a small notebook. Then he happily skipped down the winding path. As he walked, he met Rosie Rabbit carrying a basket of flowers. "Good morning, Benny!" Rosie said. "Good morning! Are you getting ready for the festival too?" Benny asked. "I am! I'm helping decorate the meadow." "I'll help you," Benny replied. Together, they tied colorful flowers around the wooden fence and placed bright ribbons on the trees. Soon, Oliver Owl flew down carrying tiny paper stars. "These will look beautiful tonight," Oliver said. Timmy Turtle slowly carried little candles that would be placed safely inside the lanterns. Lily Lamb helped spread colorful blankets where everyone would sit later. Everyone worked together, laughing and chatting as they prepared for the celebration. Just as they finished decorating, Benny noticed a small fox sitting alone beneath a tree. The little fox looked sad. Benny gently walked over. "Hello," he said kindly. "My name is Benny. What's yours?" "I'm Finn," the little fox replied quietly. "Why aren't you helping with the festival?" Finn looked at the ground. "I just moved to Happy Meadow. I don't know anyone here." Benny smiled warmly. "Well, now you know me." Rosie Rabbit joined them with a cheerful smile. "And me!" Soon Oliver Owl, Timmy Turtle, and Lily Lamb came over too. "We're happy you're here," Oliver said. Finn smiled for the first time that day. "Really?" "Of course," Benny answered. "There's always room for a new friend." The group invited Finn to help decorate. Finn carefully hung shining lanterns from the tree branches. He folded colorful paper decorations and even helped set up the tables for the evening picnic. Everyone thanked him for his hard work. As the afternoon passed, Happy Meadow became more beautiful than ever. Bright flowers covered the paths. Colorful ribbons danced in the gentle breeze. Lanterns of every color hung from the trees, waiting for nightfall. Soon the delicious smell of food filled the air. Families shared carrot pies, berry muffins, fresh fruit, warm bread, and sweet honey cakes. Everyone enjoyed a wonderful picnic together. After dinner, the sky slowly turned orange, then pink, and finally deep blue. "It is time," the mayor announced with a smile. Each animal picked up a lantern. Benny chose a bright yellow one. Rosie carried a pink lantern. Oliver held a blue lantern. Timmy smiled proudly with his green lantern. Finn chose a glowing orange lantern. One by one, the lanterns were lit. Soon the entire meadow glowed with warm, gentle light. The friends walked together along the little path, singing cheerful songs. The lanterns sparkled like tiny stars. Finn looked around with wonder. "I've never seen anything so beautiful." Benny smiled. "The best part isn't the lanterns." "What is it?" Finn asked. "The friends who walk beside us." Finn nodded. "I think I've found my new home." Everyone smiled. Before the festival ended, the mayor thanked all the animals for showing kindness, welcoming new friends, and working together. Benny looked around at the happy faces glowing in the lantern light. He knew this was a night he would always remember. As the moon rose high above Happy Meadow, the friends walked home together, laughing and talking about all the adventures they would share in the days ahead. Benny looked up at the shining stars and whispered, "Every new friend makes the world a little brighter." With happy hearts, everyone waved goodbye and promised to meet again the next morning for another exciting adventure. End of Chapter 10 Lesson: Welcoming new friends with kindness helps everyone feel loved, included, and at home. A caring heart can light up someone's world just like a lantern lights up the night. 🏮🐰💛
