Chapter 10 He's a Merman?

903 Words

Even though it was broad daylight, a bright full moon hung in the sky above the rooftop beyond the door. Under the moon, a massive pool stretched out from under Lizzy's feet. In the rippling blue water, she saw Merriman by the poolside in his swim trunks, his bare torso gleaming under the moonlight, his muscles forming flickering shadows. As their eyes met, the world around Lizzy seemed to fade into silence, the air charged with a subtle electricity. "Lizzy?" Merriman called out. "Sorry, I'll just leave," she replied. "Since you're here, why not join me for a swim?" His arm then coiled around hers like a snake. Maybe it was the moonlight or Merriman's charm, but Lizzy found herself not resisting. She stepped into the water with him, the pool lapping against his well-defined body.
