Chapter Seventy Five: Slow sight ability

1066 Words
Kyra could see them running slower. It was like she unlocked her superpower, and her powers happened to be a sighting of things at a slower rate. She could see things 0.2 slower than the real action. When the two girls ran past the finishing point, Kyra could see clearly that Mia won the race, she was the first to cross the line while Roselle was just a little bit late to cross the finishing line. "Who won the race?" Roselle asked. "Mia won the race." Kyra said still trying to figure out what was happening to her. "Argghh! How come?!" Roselle cried out. "Did you guys saw what happened now? Her eyes glowed." James exclaimed excitedly. "Whose eyes??" Mia asked, but she was shocked herself as she received a message from the system. It was unexpected so she freaked out a little. The information the system is displaying wasn't understandable, maybe it was because she is concerned on what Kyra and James were saying, so she decided to listen to their discussion before checking out what the system have for her. "I could see things slower." Kyra claimed excitedly. Her eyes weren't glowing anymore so it was difficult for Mia and Roselle to quickly believe what she was saying. "Wait wait! You mean you can see things at a slower rate although it's a fast movement?!" Mia asked. It was similar to what she read on the system message now. ' I'll come back to that later.' Mia said within herself. "Her eyes glowed just now and that's when you guys crossed the finish line. I would have called for your attention but we don't want to disturb the ongoing race." Lydia explained. "So, you also have a special power like Greg and Roselle." James said. "I think it really is a special power." Kyra muttered "You should also engage in training how best you could improve your powers. Or what did you think." Lydia suggested. "About that." Kyra replied as she picked up a baseball from the baseball rack. She passed it to Greg. "No, I don't play baseball, what should I do with it?" Greg said instantly. "You got strength powers right? Throw the ball as hard and fast as you can." Kyra said. "Are you sure about this." Lydia said, unsure of what Kyra was about to do. What if the power fails to work, and the baseball hits a vital part of her body. Will she be okay. "Don't worry Lydia, I got this." Kyra said assuredly Greg didn't hesitate to throw the ball at her, the ball flew at a great speed towards Kyra but before it could reach her, Kyra's eye glowed brighter and the motion of the ball was slowed down as she catched the ball. "That's amazing!" Greg said. He could not believe his eyes. "So it's real." Roselle said. "How about you let me try it." "What?!!" Kyra exclaimed. "No, no, no. Don't worry, I'm good." "It's not going to hurt. It's just a throw." Roselle said. "You can slow it down since your power can slow things down." "What if it doesn't? You got a lot of speed and throwing that ball will require you to use a lot of speed. I can't let you ruin my face with that baseball." Kyra said. "That's the only way we could know the limit of your powers. If you don't do it now, we might not know how far you could alter the speed of objects. So it would be best if you can allow Roselle to throw the ball. If it is because of the wound, I got something here that could heal you. A mage gave it to me as gift and I would love to heal you with it, Incase anything goes wrong." Mia explained. The mage she was referring to is the seer. "Okay, I got you." Kyra replied as she agreed for Roselle to throw the baseball at her. Although in her mind she is scared and she almost freaked out when Roselle hauled the baseball at her. The speed was so great that it didn't take a second for the ball to touch Kyra. But immediately, her eyes glowed brightly and she could see the ball heading towards her at a slow speed. She catched the ball easily and let out a mighty shout on what she had just done. She jumped up several times before crouching down, placing her heads below her knees. "I did it." Kyra said surprisingly but her voice was as silent as a graveyard. It wasn't out of fear but of amazement of how she could see things slower and her lazy and weak nature happened to have a superpower. Her parents had always called her a weak girl but now it all seems to be wrong. She could use her new superpower to fight against anyone as long as she can slow down their attacks, there won't be any problem. The only thing she would need to learn now is how to fight in a melee combat range and weapon combat range. Since Mia is here, Kyra knew that she could be of help as she is an expert at war. Even if Mia is not an expert at war, she fought with strong beasts, why won't she know how to fight in a melee combat range. ' This is the beginning of the change I've always awaited.' Kyra smiled within herself.
