Sharon Reynold's POV
The news was still circulating, but now it was doing so with proof that the man in the picture had happened to be my fiancé.
I had just returned from the conference room after answering a gazillion questions on the matter.
As I fell heavily into my seat, my phone rang once more. And once again it was my father.
He must have heard.
"You had a fiancé without my knowledge, Sharon?! You should have told that to me so I could defend you!" He had snapped at me. I could feel the anger and disappointment in his voice, his frustration with the entire situation being very palpable
News did travel faster in this rather big city.
"Father, I wanted to tell you that-"
"I already know, Sharon. All you have to do now is bring that man who is your fiancé to me. I need to see the kind of man who wants to marry you, my darling," he said to me.
"Yes, father."
"Bring him right over!" He snapped at me and then ended the call. I sighed in frustration and looked up at Alina who had come into the office at the start of my phone call.
"What you need now is damage control," she said to me with a calm and collected demeanor. "We will somehow need to spin this entire lie to your advantage," she added as she paced the breadth of the office.
"What if he would not marry me? After all he is a stranger to me," I murmured as my mind wandered back to the events of last night. I would not disagree that I was sexually attracted to him and his piercing gray eyes that almost had me begging him to be inside of me that morning. The memories of the night before imprinted on my mind.
"Who would dare to reject you? Miss Sharon Reynolds? A wealthy CEO and famous heiress to the Reynolds PLC. The man would be a fool. And I doubt that guy in the photo would be a fool."
I saw reason with what she was saying to me. "Alright, let us get this over with," said as I squared my shoulders in preparation. "I would call him on the way to my father's house and arrange a later meeting for this evening so I can convince him to get married to me. For now I will go to my father's house and try to see how to pacify him so he would easily protect me from the board members."
"That is wonderful!"
"Find out everything about that man who is in the photo, Alina. Then go to my official page and make a post about our coming engagement," I instructed her.
"Yes, I will Miss."
"I will go to my father's now," I informed her, taking my hand bag and leaving the office for the parking lot where my car was parked.
As I entered the parking lot, I pulled out my car keys from my handbag, unlocking the car.
I opened the car door and was about to go in, when I heard someone speaking to me.
"I got myself a fianceé without my knowledge. How interesting." I turned around to the voice and found the man from this morning staring down at me.
"It is you," I whispered as he leaned against my black car effortlessly. Our gazes locked and for an instant, I forgot where I was and the mess that I was in at the moment.
"Yeah yeah. Both of us are quite the celebrity now," he said to me in a low and smooth voice.
"Sure that wasn't your fault? You didn't come out to get me?" I said, snapping out of my head. He could be the one who got me into this mess.
"I wish it were me because honestly I would love a wife like you. But honey, I love my private lifestyle," he said in a seductive voice, leaning into me. I took a step back because his gaze was causing my body to grow warm.
"A marriage with me will be nice, I promise you," I said in a whisper. He reached for my hair, caressing the strands tenderly.
"That is not what I want," he admitted to me. I nodded at his words.
"Then what do you want?"
"What would I gain from a marriage with you, Miss Reynolds?"
"Everything," I said to him. "And, you can have me forever, that is if you agree to it."
We stared at each other for a long time, the s****l tension between the both of us on the high side.
"Will it work if I say yes?" He asked me with a soft expression.
"We will make it work," I reassured him as I drew him closer with his tie and did what I desired to do. I kissed him softly. He responded with the same amount of passion that was burning inside of me, brimming.
"Will you say yes?" I murmured against his lips.
"I would think about it, Miss Reynolds," he said to me. "I would think about whether I want to be tied with you for such a long time as forever."
There was a short silence.
"Then, just pretend to be my fiancé for a while. I am in a mess now. Let us go to my father please," I pleaded with him. "He needs to see my fake fiancé."
"Hope he isn't a fuzzy person?" He said to me, his thumb now caressing my lips. I suddenly wanted more of him, of his lips.
"He isn't." He nodded then in agreement. "I'll drive." And then we got into the car.
The drive to my father's house was silent, but we wallowed in our arousal and s****l tension. The luxurious interior of the car seemed too small, trapping us in that uncomfortable space, making me claustrophobic.
But we soon arrived at my father's mansion. The gates were opened for me upon my identification and I drove over towards the main house.
"We will survive," he said to me after getting out of the car.
"I don't even know your name," I said to him as my heart was racing in my chest at the impending confrontation with my father.
"Oh?" He said to me, "I am Pascal Donovan . I am twenty seven and I do not have a job."
"Well, you will have one soon," I said. He stared at me like he thought I was joking around.
"Are you both not going to come into the house? Or do I have to wait longer!" My father screamed from the grand foyer.
We walked up to him and I put on a smile and greeted him. The air thickened with tension as my father sized Pascal up with his eyes.
"Well?" he demanded, his voice thundering throughout the opulent living room.
"Father, I am really sorry. It was a mistake and I apologize. I should have told you about him earlier on," I said to him with my head slightly bowed.
"And you, young man?!" He said, shifting his gaze to Pascal.
"I am Pascal Donovan. I am your future son in law. I am sorry I did not come to see you earlier. But I promised that I had it in mind," he said confidently, even extending his hands to my father for a handshake. I tried to contain my laughter at his actions.
"I was asking for an apology," my father grumbled. "But it is fine," he said, still scrutinizing him. "I will announce your engagement today and you both will get married in two weeks' time."
Pascal turned to look at me with an expression that read: That is not what we agreed on. I gritted my teeth in a forced smile and gave him a reassuring expression.
"Alright, father. Pascal and I are so in love with each other," I said drawing him into a side embrace and patting his back in a warning gesture
"I can see that. That is why I do not want the both of you to be apart any more. In fact, the marriage can be held this coming Saturday."
"That is in five days, father," I choked out in surprise. "Is it not too fast? Will we be able to plan everything in such a limited time?"
"I am Sean Reynolds. If I want you to get married today, the marriage will still be the talk of a century."
The room began to tilt at his words and I felt my world quickly spiralling out of control. This was not what I wanted to happen.
