Amara and I finished up with the rest of the preparations and headed back inside to check on Brittaney.
“Hey how's…” My voice hitched in my throat as I looked at Brittaney. You couldn't see any of the damage Damien did to her. She looked brand new.
“Girl you look…” I couldn't even finish my sentence before Brittaney finished it for me… “Amazing?!, yeah I know.. They really did a great job.” “Damn right they did..” Amara added.
As I hugged Brittaney tightly, I attempted to conceal the tears that were welling up in my eyes. After making sure that she wouldn't observe my tears, I let go of her. The thought crossed my mind that we would have to start getting ready for the celebration shortly. My first priority is to make sure my best friends are fed before attending to anything else.
