After dropping Amara back off and getting back to the pack house, I could feel the weight of the day's events still lingering in the air. The uncertainty of what lies ahead, and the responsibility I carried on my shoulders were all weighing heavily on my mind. I knew I needed to link Amara and give her a brief explanation of what had transpired, but I couldn't risk calling her. The last thing we needed was for someone else to intercept the conversation and further complicate the already delicate situation.
