Martin’s POV: It was 6:30pm and I was busy in the office. Marco had scheduled a meeting with me by 6:00pm at the office but he was no where to be seen. I picked up my phone and dialed his number. He answered after a few rings. "I don't like waiting Marco." I stated "I know and I'm sorry. I got caught up in traffic and decided to grab something to eat before heading back to the office. But I'll be there in 10." "No need. Where are you? I'll meet you there." "At a restaurant opposite that cafe." "What cafe?" I asked curiously "The girl from last week. That café." He said his voice becoming muffled. He was talking about Mia's shop. It had been over a week since I saw her. I has no idea why but, it took everything in me not to go there every single day. The look in her eyes when she slapped me, I was unable to forget them and I couldn't bring myself to face her. I quickly ended the call and grabbed my keys and left the office to meet Marco. Mia’s POV: It was a few minutes to 7pm and I was just closing the store. I had to stay behind for a while as I was trying to sort out money for the rent. The apartments rent was expiring soon and I had to complete the balance with today's earnings at the shop. I quickly turned off all the lights and closed the doors. I was alone today because I had sent Mia home early. I didn't like her staying out with me whenever we closed late. I turned the keys on the glass door and threw them into my bag before heading in the direction of my apartment. I hadn't walked that far when I felt like I was being watched. I looked around but there was no one, so I continued walking. Then I noticed a shadow reflecting on the walls beside me and instantly I knew I was being followed. I tightened my grip on my purse and quickened my pace but all of a sudden, a pair of hands quickly covered my mouth and dragged me into a alleyway. I tried screaming for help but my screams only came out muffled. He had me pinned against a wall making me unable to get a view of his face only his body. I could easily make out his torn clothes and his breath that reeked of alcohol. His hands were all sticky and I watched as he slowly dipped one hand into his pants and pulled out a small pocketknife, placing it on my neck. "Your purse, now!" He demanded I looked at him, fear had consumed my whole form. I couldn't just hand him my bag. The keys to my apartment and shop were in there along with my phone and rent money. "I don't have all night lady." He said "Please... let me go." I pleaded feeling beads of sweat forming on my head, but he only increased the pressure of the cold steel on my neck. I could feel the knife in my skin already. Leaving me with no choice, I slowly took my bag off my shoulder with one hand, passing it to him. He was just about to grab it when someone pushed him forcefully off me, making him lose his grip on the knife and fall hard on the ground. I clung unto my bag tightly quickly moving behind this new person. All I could hear, was the continuous sounds of fists connecting with bones. I couldn't make out who this person was but he had saved me. Suddenly everywhere became deadpan silent and he approached me. He held my shoulder and led me out of the alleyway. I was still shaking in fear and managed to mutter a small thank you to him. "It's alright." He replied and I slowly raised my head up, recognizing those blue eyes even in the dark. I noticed the little to no distance between the two of us making my heart beat increase rapidly. Calm down Mia! Taking in slow breaths, I broke away from his grip keeping a good distance between us. There was an awkward silence as none of us said anything. "Thank you." I said again breaking the silence. "I should leave." I added "It's quite late. I'll drop you off." He replied "No it's fine. My apartment is just down the ...r..oad." I stuttered feeling an unusual pain as I spoke. I felt something trickling down my neck and moved my hand over to touch it. It waist moist and felt warm. Looking back to my hand, I saw red. Blood! I looked down at my clothes and it was slowly getting soaked in my own blood. My mind immediately went back to when the thief had pressed his pocket knife further into my neck. The adrenaline in my system must have numbed the pain I was feeling. I felt myself stagger backwards. Mia! Mia! My vision became blurry with black dots and the last thing I remembered was a pair of hands holding onto me tightly before passing out. **********************
