“How long do you plan to keep punishing her for that, Lucian?” I asked, my tone steady but firm.
Lucian’s face darkened. “For as long as it takes for her to learn her place, Dimitri. She needs to understand that defying me has consequences. She destroyed my life.”
“That was five years ago,” I scoffed. You haven’t even allowed her to speak her truth. You’re jumping to conclusions—like always.”
Lucian’s eyes turned sharp. “I’m not guessing, Dimitri. I know exactly what happened, and I know exactly what she’s capable of.”
I shook my head in disbelief. “You’re so blinded by your own resentment that you can’t see what’s real anymore.”
