8- Blind Date Again??

1810 Words
Third Person's POV Undecided about what she wanted to do, Seily told her dad that she wanted to breathe some air. She asked him if she could go abroad and think for a while, but he didn't let her. Instead, he told her to go on another blind date with Andrew. “Dad, I didn't want to have another date with him.“ She told her dad, Rod, as she stomped her feet. Rod was really frustrated that his daughter was very childish and seeing her acting that way made him regret pampering and following all her whims. He had loved his only daughter more than in his life as Seily was his wife's greatest gift to him before she passed away. “I thought you said that you liked her?“ He asked. He was certain that after their first date Seily informed him that she liked Andrew. That's why he agreed immediately when Andrew asked him if he and Seily could have their second date. “Yes, but not anymore. I thought for a while and concluded that I was too young to continue what we had started,“ Seily answered. Rod held his head as if he was having a headache. “I can't really understand you, why do you change your mind so easily?“ He asked. “Can't you attend this date once again and study yourself whether you like him or not?“ Rod suggested. “If you think that you didn't really like him, then tell him that. You gave the man false hope,“ he added. “Fine, but please never arrange a blind date for me ever again.“ Seily agreed eventually. She loves her father so much and seeing problems with him hurts her as well. “Alright, same time, same place on Saturday.“ Rod informed her and sighed in relief. This past year, he felt that he was aging too much because of Seily. She was very outgoing and Rod couldn't help but worry about her. That's why he was looking for a suitable boyfriend that would be able to take care of her and follow her through and through. Rod left for his office after their conversation while Seily was seated on their couch. She was thinking whether she would really go on their blind date or not. But because her father had a point, she decided to attend it in the end. “Why did I have to wake up early every day when I knew that I wouldn't do anything the whole morning?“ Seily complained to herself. “Of course, to have breakfast with my dad, duh” she answered herself. She stood up and went back to her room. She decided to look into the financial statements of last year's operation and study them well to check if there were any anomalies. She was in her room and went to her mini study area. She asked her dad for that so she would be able to use it whenever she had time to check everything in their company. She passed the time in her room as she busied herself studying some company matters until it was time for her to prepare. She didn't put in much effort, as she was not interested in their dates anymore. She wanted to tell her dad that she already had someone she liked but she was worried that he might force her to let him meet Aldrich. For now, she has decided to just agree with her dad. She was sure that he wouldn't force her into something she actually didn't like and knew how much her dad loved her as he wanted only what was best for her. Seily was engrossed with what she was doing when her alarm rang. She looked at it and turned off sighing. She wanted to stay at home and study business but she made a promise to her dad so she had to start preparing for her date now. With all the files on her table, she decided to clean them up first before she went to the bathroom. Even if she didn't like the idea of going on that date, she still wanted to look good. She was choosing her dress when her dad called, "Dad," she answered, "Is there a problem?" she asked worriedly. Rod is not the type who calls when it isn't important, so him calling Seily brings worry to the girl. "Nothing, I just want to make sure that you're going to see Andrew later." he said, reminding her of the date. "I was already dressing up, dad. I know that I agreed, so you shouldn't worry about me not showing up," she said. "Alright, I just want to make sure as I've said. Nothing for you to get annoyed about. You know me right, I didn't want anyone not showing up without a valid reason. I am very punctual, so I expect you to do the same." he said, "I have to go now, dear. Don't forget our date." he added, and ended their call. Seily sighed and went back into her closet. She wanted to look pretty just in case someone she knew would see her. She was always like that, the only time she forgot about how she looked was when Aldrich called her to fix her car. She was in such a hurry that she even forgot to wear a bra. She chuckled as she remembered that incident and the look on Aldrich's face flashed in her mind after she deliberately touched Aldrich's arms to her b*****. She chose a baby blue dress that was up to her knee and paired it with baby blue flat sandals. She didn't care if she was wearing flats, even if she was short. She loved her height and she took it as an advantage. She did a half up, half down hairstyle and put on a little make-up. She sprayed her favorite flowery perfume and got her car key beside her royal blue handbag. She liked that she was holding a bag brighter than her attire. She headed to Serene's hotel and this time, she didn't bother calling her best friend Eolly. She knew that she was busy with her job already and, of course, she had a feeling that her best friend and her boss had something going on between them. Seily arrived at Serene Hotel a little early but Andrew was already there. She was glad that she didn't have to wait for him. She walked to him and smiled as he stood up and pulled a chair for her. "Hi," Andrew said, "Hi," she replied. She was not really in the mood but she had to pretend that she was enjoying his company. They sat down and Andrew called for the waiter, "What would you like to have?" he asked her. Seily smiled, thinking how considerate Andrew was. She doesn't really have a problem with him at the beginning, but Aldrich's sudden appearance disturbs her thoughts. "You can order what you want," she replied, "No, I eat anything. Be it vegetables or meat. I was worried that you had any preference though." he replied, smiling. "Then, I will have their pasta," she replied, and Andrew ordered it for them. "How are you?" he asked after the waiter left their table. "I am very fine. You?" she asked, trying to entertain him so he wouldn't feel neglected. After all that, she agreed to have this date. "Just so, so." he replied, "Dad has been asking me to date, so here I am," he added. "I guess our dad's were really good friends. He wanted that for me as well." Seily said, "I guess we'll just enjoy this time. At the same time, we will be able to make them happy for a while," he commented and they both laughed. "I am not really into this dating thing but I'm sure dad would be at ease if he found out that we were constantly seeing each other. I don't need to actually go on different blind dates that he arranged with his friend's daughters," he added. "Yeah, I wonder how many of their friends have a son and a daughter?" Seily replied and they laughed in unison once again. Seily was suddenly stiffened when he saw Aldrich on the other table looking at her, 'Gosh, why is he here?' she thought. She lost her focus and attention and saw Andrew and all she saw was Aldrich. She tried to be closer to Andrew so she could test what Aldrich would do if he saw her getting close to another guy. The waiter placed their order and started eating. Seily blushed as Andrew took some pasta sauce from the side of her lips with his finger. She didn't know what to do, and she felt worried that Aldrich would misunderstand them. She looked in his way and found out that he was staring at them. "I will go to the restroom first," Seily said, and tried to calm herself. She looked at Aldrich's table before she went to the restroom. As soon as she entered the restroom, she washed her face with water. She wanted to compose herself as she was not prepared to see Aldrich. When she was sure that she was OK, she decided to go back to their table. She bumped into something hard as soon as she left the restroom, she looked up and saw that it was Aldrich. Her face turned red and she didn't know what to do. "What are you doing here?" Seily said after she calmed herself and looked at the women's signage on the restroom door, indirectly telling him that it was the women's restroom. "What are you doing here?" he asked. "It's the restroom, so I peed." She replied, "You know what I am talking about," Aldrich replied without leaving her gaze. "Am I not allowed to come here?" she asked instead. "Who is that man?" he asked, ignoring Seily's question. "Which man?" Seily replied and looked around. "I am not playing with you." "Neither do I." Seily replied abruptly. "I'm having a blind date. What's wrong with that?" she added. "You're interested in him? This is your second date already," Aldrich asked her. He completely forgot that she didn't know that he had seen her there as well on their first date. "How did you know about that?" Seily asked, confused. "Is this your way of trying to get my attention? Are you that eager to have me?" he asked continuously as he neared his face to hers. "What if I do?" Seily said and met his face, but Aldrich stopped as soon as he noticed that Seily was not backing down. "You will never have me," he said, and left Seily stunned.
