“You did great.. Don’t worry about him, after the fun he’s gonna have today…. You two will be bonding in no time” Bridgette remarked, wearing a cheery smile, as she stared earnestly at Charles.
Hearing her honest comment, he promptly sighed, wearing a brightened expression, readying himself for the day..
“Alright.. Let’s do this” He said, with a hearty chuckle.
Two hours later
Charles and Bridgette idly stood by their obviously expensive Rolls Royce, outside their dazzling, white colored mansion. They were practically waiting for their son to exit the building.
“What’s taking him to long?” Bridgette muttered as she was on the brink of losing it. Her eyes and fists twitch furiously, expressing her intense rage.
Charles on the other hand was oddly calm, patiently waiting for his Step-son to casually exit the building.
! Pa! Pa! Pa! Pa!
Charles' attention was soon drawn to continuous finger tapping on the window of the vehicle. He then moved his gaze towards Bridgette, instantly reading her current demeanor, thus, sending fright down his spine.
“Where the hell is he?” She yelled at the top of the voice, prepping herself to march towards the door.
“Honey….Hun.. Where’re you going?” Charles curiously inquired, worried about what’s going to happen to his Stepson.
“I swear…. I’m gonna freaking destroy..” She said, noticing the door was slowly opening. This new development caused her to instantly halt her furious march.
After a couple of seconds of anticipation, the young lad idly walked out, donning a dark gray hoodie, alongside a black colored jean with classic Nike sneaker.
Obviously, one could tell he wasn’t interested in the following events, judging from his nonchalant demeanor.
Idly walking towards the family vehicle, his eyes promptly collided with that of his mom, which was filled with nothing but rage, thereby causing he to unconsciously shriek while taking momentarily taking a step backwards.
Following this was a silent but obvious tsk, as Finn gritted his teeth’s and clenched his fist, trying his utmost best to evade his Mother’s wrath.
“Get your butt into the car” She stoically said, turning her back while heading towards the vehicle.
Not even waiting anyone, she walked into the car, taking the front passenger seat, slamming the door shut, steaming furiously with annoyance. Charles on the other hand, was totally confused and stunned, as he slowly stepped into the car, taking the drivers seat.
“Damnit” Finn thought, smacking his face vigorously , prompting himself towards the vehicle, in order to avoid his mom’s tantrum.
Taking huge strides, he wasted no time as walked towards the black colored, sequentially opening the back door, swiftly entering, slamming the behind him. Comfortable seated, his eyes attention was promptly drawn to the left side mirror.
Thanks to the reflection, he instantly caught a glimpse of his mom’s furious expression, thus, causing him to choke on his saliva.
Trying her best to blow off steam, Bridgette deeply inhaled, exhaling afterwards. Like magic, her foul mood instantly vanished shocking both Charles and Finn.
“Alright… What are waiting for Honey.. Let’s go have a good time” She said, wearing a warm, cheery smile.
“… Oh, and Finn.. If you mess this up, you’re gonna regret it” She further added, with a rather sinister and maniacal demeanor, dearly frightening the young lad.
Shortly shrieking in fear, the lad felt fear slither down his spine, causing him to unconsciously blurt out,”Yes.. Ma’am”.
Hearing her son’s frightened but genuine answer, she released a genial chortle, “Glad you’re on board… Alright honey, let’s go”.
“Whatever you say Hun” Charles cheerfully responded, promptly starting the car.
! Voom! Voom!
The Car engine roared brilliantly, as the the vehicle itself began to move, riding smoothly on the asphalt, grinding and rolling it’s tires on the concrete.
Just like that, they began their journey to one of the greatest amusement parks in the States, Dexter’s Park. Their sudden fane was due to their death defying, spine-chilling and exhilarating ride dubbed.. The Dexter Maximus!.
…
After an hour drive, they finally arrived at Dexter’s Park, which was practically crowded with a ton of people, who were eager to ride the greatest rollercoaster ever created in the history of Rollercoaster.
Stepping out of the car, Finn’s eyes were instantly greeted by an enormous, magnificent and wondrous sight, thus, causing him to involuntarily blurt, “Whoa..”
Hearing his Stepson surprised exclamation, he fixated his gaze upon the gigantic rollercoaster, and then towards his Stepson , “Awesome, isn’t it?” He said.
“Hmm.. Yeah, I guess” Finn answered, seemingly flustered by his initial reaction.
“Alright boys… Cha-cha… Move it… Let’s go… We’ve got to get in line” Bridgette proactively and hurriedly ordered, nudging the guys to join the queue, which they promptly did, trying not to anger the ‘Boss Lady’.
However, the queue they joined wasn’t that of the Park’s main attraction but a subsidiary Ride, known as… The Plunderer XI. A fifty feet, drop style Coaster, reaching speeds of 112 Kilometer per hour.
One by one, the Baker family rode every single Rollercoaster in the Park, including the greatest of them all, the national treasure… Dexter Maximus.
Each Ride they rode, Finn’s spirits got brighter and brighter, allowing the lady to connect successfully with his parents, allowing them to have a really good time together, something which rarely happens.
Eventually, the day of fun was at its peak, as everyone present in the Park slowly made their way home, this also includes the Baker family.
Slowly, they made their way back towards their vehicle, sequentially entering and driving off immediately.
Taking a look at their exhilarated son, both of them nodded in one accord, while wearing a genial smile.
“Finney… did you have a good time” Bridgette amiably inquired.
After her question, an awkward moment of silence followed, engulfing the driving vehicle.
…
“Yeah…. I did, It was nice” The young lad answered genially, wearing a cheery smirk.
Noting Finn’s honest answer, both Bridgette and Charles’ affable smile got brighter, dearly warming their heart.
“Glad it was” Charles remarked, fixating his gaze and utmost attention on the road.
“Alright… Onwards home!” Bridgette obnoxiously exclaimed, playfully waving her hand at the sky, outside the window.
“Mom…Quit yelling!” Finn exclaimed, blocking his ears to drown out his Mom’s childish and incessant yell.
“Hun… That’s dangerous, please put back inside!” Charles worriedly remarked.
Listening to their arrogant and worried comments, Bridgette couldn’t help but to choke on her saliva, awkwardly chuckling while she replied, “Heh-Heh-Heh, you guys should relax… Nothing’s gonna happen to me!”.
“You can’t be too sure… Please put you hand back in” Charles anxiously responded.
“Why are you still yelling?” Finn rudely remarked, blocking his ears tightly.
“Sorry… I can’t help it… Heh-Heh-Heh!” She remarked, releasing a hearty chuckle.
…
After an hour, the Baker family had a relatively peaceful and awkward drive home.
Still on the road, they promptly came to halt by a stoplight at a T junction. Presently, the lights shone bright crimson, thus causing cars to stop instantly.
Thanks to the brief moment, pedestrians were allowed to safely cross the bridge road.
Apparently, the only person wanting to cross the road was a feeble old man, dressed in a light brown coat, with a black colored cane in his right hand, which he used to aid his crooked movement.
Coincidentally, the only car aiming to continue down road was the Baker’s.
Just as the old man about to walk past the black colored vehicle, something odd and phenomenal suddenly happened. A bright and pure azure beam of light shone down to the ground, engulfing the old man instantly, bathing him in it’s warmth, seemingly purifying his body.
“What the hell is that?” Finn couldn’t help exclaim in fear, confusion and curiosity.
“I… Don’t… Know” Charles and Bridgette simultaneously stuttered, idly watching the brilliant light show.
The bright azure light illuminated their vehicle intensely, seemingly blinding them momentarily. Immediately shifting his eyes away from the blinding light, Finn promptly moved his head towards the sides , the lad soon noticed the familiar phenomenon currently in session in several parts in the city.
“What the f**k is going on here?” He muttered, shifting his attention backwards the light beam in front of him.
He then noticed that, Charles had alighted the vehicle, obviously trying to investigate the current situation.
“Be careful” Bridgette worriedly said, anxiously fixating her attention on her brave as well as rash, husband.
Slowly and cautiously walking towards the absurd and azure light phenomenon, he obviously felt the purifying and grotesque pressure and energy, surging out of the ethereal light beam.
“What is this…. Where did it come from… How is this possible?” Random questions popped up in his head, further throwing him into a confusion.
He soon noticed that the other pedestrians who were idly standing by also had the same reaction, as they all saw the random ethereal beams.
“What are they?”
.
“Where did they come from?”
.
“What the f**k!”
.
“It’s an alien invasion!”
.
“Shut the hell up… Aliens aren’t real”
.
“Then how do you explain this s**t… Huh!”
The surrounding people slowly began to mutter amongst themselves, as they slowly began to fear the unknown.
Promptly after a couple of seconds, the absurd beam of Azure light, rapidly dissipated, vanishing like it never existed. The people it engulfed under it’s brief, brilliant luminosity, vanished into thin air, just like the ethereal beams.
This further development gravely shocked the spectators, thus, causing them to panicking in fright and fear.
“Yo… Yo… Yo.. What the f**k is going on here!”
.
“Shit.. s**t… Let’s get out of here!”
.
“What in bloody hell is going on!”
Pandemonium struck, as everyone present at the scene immediately burst fear, dispersing in random ways, causing a huge scene in the premises.
Inside the black colored Rolls Royce, Bridgette and Finn were obviously lost, trying to make sense of what happened right before their eyes. Their lost and frightened expression was soon disrupted by Charles, who hurriedly entered the car, who wasted no time in kick-starting the engine.
“What’s going on?” Bridgette worriedly inquired, staring earnestly at her husband who was currently driving like a madman.
“I don’t know…. But we’ve got to get out of here” Charles stuttered, still trying to wrap his head around the entire situation.
Finn on the other hand, sat at the back seat, obviously dazed and confused.
“What’s going on here?” He muttered at an inaudible frequency, seemingly whispering to himself.
! Voom!
Charles dashingly increased speed, zooming past the daunting and disoriented streets of New Jersey. Several people ran like psychopath, obviously scared and worried about the filling events which had already happened and had yet to happen.
“Everyone’s gone crazy” Finn thought, watching the scenes that appeared before his eyes.
Cars, buildings, street post and lamps, everything were engulfed in flames, as a ton of people recklessly fleed at random.
This was a scene Finn had seen once, in a horror movie he had once watched… The Bird Box.
“Tsk..” Charles clicked his tongue, still dazed and baffled by what was going on.
! Boom! Boom! Boom!
All of a sudden, wicked shockwaves and tremors shook the tectonic plates, soon escalating into violent Earthquakes, ranging from a magnitude of six to seven.
“D… D… Dam…. Damnit!’ Finn stuttered in shock, as the magnitude of the Earthquakes increased drastically, instantly collapsing various soaring high buildings.
Still on panic and riot mode, the rampaging humans soon felt the violent shock of the Earthquakes as multiple buildings came crashing down on them, brutally crushing and killing them instantly.
Due to the maddening earthquakes, a large truck filled with gasoline, rapidly skidded off the road, collapsing on a bunch of panicking civilians, crushing their limbs fatally as the gasoline slowly leaked out.
Instinctively, Charles came to a halt, trying his best to avoid any collision, however, his efforts were obviously futile, as he involuntarily knocked down a bunch of fleeing civilians, crushing their skulls and body under the weight of tires, decorating the smashed up asphalt in crimson.
The scenes playing his eyes were some what familiar to another horror movie which Finn had earlier watched…. Final Destination..
Grieving over the following events, something truly unexpected happened. A large, daunting white colored airplane slowly fell towards the ground, obstructing any form of light from reaching the bottom.
Everyone’s attention was immediately attracted towards this crazy sight, causing them to instantly resume panic and riot mode, trying their possible best to exit the crash zone.
Unfortunately, the crash zone was already predestined to land, directly on top of the gasoline truck.
“No… No… No… No… We’re all gonna die!”
