I sat at my desk in my office. I needed to replace the ones I’ve lost and more. I knew it was risky to give the Wild Ones three days to figure out a way to stop me, but I knew I’d fail if I didn’t take the necessary precautions. Ondre had been on my ass about thinking out my plans and I have to agree that I’ve made some impulsive choices that did not end in our favor.
“Calico, ” I called out and he came into the office. “Have you found any allies?”
“A few, ” he said. “I contacted several, a few returned with interest. Most expect compensation.”
