Charlotte’s POV
I had honestly tried my best to hold in my anger, but as we got closer to the palace and people started to come into view, my anger spilt over.
I could tell when people were faking concern for you. I had seen it way too often while growing up. People had always tried to get on my parent’s good sides by acting overly nice to me and concerned for me when I was younger, so I knew that this was exactly what the other girls were doing as their faces came into view. Some were wiping away non-existent tears, some were clutching their chest, and I could almost hear them saying, “That’s horrible! How could they get lost in the forest?”
I absolutely hated it, and I would make sure to call them out on it.
