CHAPTER 4

ANAYA "This woman is a filthy liar." "What does she mean by that?" "No, this is the gifted one. We all saw when the rain stopped and..." "Did we really see her stop the rain? Many just assumed because of what we believed." Everyone murmured, finding it hard to process my accusations. I didn't tremble neither did I show any sign of fear nor worry. My serious gaze were fixed right at Dante and his bride. My Ex rolled his eyes to the side like I'm just an easy problem he can kick out with just a snap of his finger, while his bride, Linda... She stared back into my eyes in shock. She knows I'm onto her. I won't stand back and watch an imposter claim to be me! I am the ou gifted one! "A fraud? Seriously?" Dante scoffed, swaying his head at me. "If there's anyone who should know if Linda is a fake or not, then it's me," He spoke confidently, taking hold of her hand to make his words stand. Of course I knew he'd defend her. I don't know what she showed him that gave him that strong believe that he's with the real deal. Well, only the original can c***k things up. "My Linda is no fraud. She's the blessed one from above," He spoke lovingly to his so-called mate, one arm over her as he pulled her close. Linda smiled innocently, dropping her head on Dante's shoulder. Their act of love made a lot of people admire them while glaring at me with hate. "Blessed indeed. How did you meet?" I threw that first question, watching Dante scoff over it. "Well, if telling you will silence your doubt, then listen," He said with pride, stepping forward a bit with his bride next to him. Dante shared how he met Linda in the neighboring pack, playing with a group of children and adults at the river bank, flaunting of her powers before them like an angel. "The moment we locked eyes, I knew right away that I've found her, and she has found her rightful mate," He spoke with desire, looking into Linda's eyes, as she smiled with a glow on her face, stealing the people's heart once again. But their magical moment soon went blank when I pointed out something from his words. "She stood out in the open with people around, showing off her powers? I'm sorry my elders, but wasn't it stated that the gifted one never flaunts herself for the eyes to see?" I questioned, watching how Linda's smiles faded into that of trouble. Dante was about to counter my words when an elder replied, "Indeed, you're right. She only makes herself known to the one who is worthy of her." "And that's what Linda did. What exactly are you trying to point out?" Dante chuckled like I was the crazy one. That's when I said, hitting the nail on the head, "In the secret, Alpha Dante. The gifted one will make herself known to the one she has chosen... In secret, not in the open. No." That last point left Dante boiling and looking over at the elders. He needed them to say something to prove me wrong, but like the first point, they agreed. "She's right, Alpha. Didn't you know?" An elder asked, causing Dante's to turn red. Not just with anger, but with shame and fear. I saw how he looked over at Linda, as his bride stared at him innocently, then over at me—both of them. Already, the people were beginning to murmur and gossip over this, wondering if their Alpha had found a fake pretending to be what she's not. "I warned you, didn't I, Dante? I told you you'll regret ever hurting me," I smiled with satisfaction, waiting for everything to fall flat when suddenly... "My dear," Linda spoke directly at me with her softlike voice, causing everyone to go silent when they heard her. "Who hurt you?" The moment she threw that question at me, my heart skipped. I felt the strong sting go through me like a dagger as she kept looking me, saying things that made my heart swell with anger, "I can tell you've been badly hurt by someone and you felt doing this would bring some kind of closure to your pain." "That's not true," I denied, but eyes around—who knew about my past affairs with Dante—began whispering from the sides, believing I did this out of jealousy! "You don't need to lie about it. I can tell because..." She suddenly waved her hands into the air, unleashing glittering blue lights, stunning me in my spot. "I am the gifted one," She added with a smile, stealing the show with applauds flooding in from everyone! In a flash, everyone blindly fell for her tricks, calling her the heaven's angel! "How did she do that?" I wondered, knowing well that she didn't hold anything to sprinkle that heavenly light out from her hands. It clearly came out from her! But this made no sense. I'm the gifted one! Who the hell is she?! Dante's redness faded and was replaced with pride, as he stood next to his Luna while she faced the elders and gave an explanation about her encounter with Dante. She claimed that as the gifted one, she has every right to change her own rules when she needs to. "If I hadn't done that, I'd have missed the opportunity to be with my husband today," She spoke with love, turning back to face Dante, as she wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed him on the cheek. This sight made my heart sink with bitterness. Just like that, she turned the tables around and all these dumb people didn't hesitate to side with her. "She wants to sabotage the wedding because the Alpha finally dumped her w***e of an ass," I heard someone mock me from the side. It made my blood boil with rage and...and... ARGH! The itch was there. I felt like unleashing my powers right in front of everyone to show them that they've made a big mistake. But deep inside, I could feel something holding me back in form of an embrace, keeping me calm. It's my wolf. She don't want me to ruin all our hardwork for a man who's unworthy of our presence. "He doesn't deserve to see our glory. Let him marry his chosen one," I accepted, suppressing my rage. Dante, who now had a reason to lift his shoulders again, glared at me with a smirk and said, "You've wasted our precious time with your nonsense. If not for my lovely bride here, I'd have called the guards to throw you out of this place like the filth you are." He smirked with victory. His eyes saying to me, "You lost." "But we'll let you walk out of this place and feel the heat of your own actions. Now..." He points over at the entrance while looking at me and ordered, "Get out of this place." I stared at Dante, already feeling sorry for him. I still had a lot of things to say and prove that Linda is a fraud, but after what I just witnessed... f**k everyone here. I will not waste my time trying to prove anything. They can enjoy their Luna for all I care. When the time finally comes, we'll see who gets the last laugh. With a smirk spreading to the side, I confidently turned around and made my way for the exit, feeling no shame. The people didn't miss the chance to laugh at me, telling me to go back to the brothel from whence I came. "He didn't choose her and now she wants to cry," A group of women giggled, watching me leave. No shame, no regrets at all. I walked out with my head held high, pleased to have kept myself in place. . Arriving at my home, I walked in with heavy steps and heavy thoughts over my situation at the mansion. One thing was clear. I'm done with this pack and had no business staying here anymore. It won't take long for Dante to send his guards down here to kick me out of this building. After all, he's the one who got this place for me when he realized I wasn't from around here. He wanted me to stay within his reach and begged me to live here. Everything you see in this house, Dante bought it. When I stared into his eyes, after Linda succeeded in rising to the top, I could tell he's coming for my ass. "It was nice knowing you all," I sighed, bidding farewell to all my belongings, even the clothes in my closet. I don't want to take anything with me because they are not mine. I came into this land with nothing and I'll leave the same way I came. All set to move, I held the knob of the door and swung it wide open, only to freeze in my spot when I met a stranger standing outside my home, his knuckle high in the air, a sign he was set to knock before I opened up. "Who the hell is this?" I wondered, noticing how this fellow's eyes shimmered like he knows me. But I don't recognize or know who he was. He looked way too handsome to be a guard. Maybe a mere pack member or a traveler? "Yes, how can I help you?" I uttered, staring at him. The fellow didn't respond at first but gave me a weird smile, tilting his head to the side like he was... Wait, is he checking me out?! "It's obvious you don't recognize me. But I never forgot about you after what you did to me." "Did to you?" I was confused, trying to understand what this man was talking about. "Look buddy, I don't know who you are or what you're talking about. As you can see I was just on my..." "Three days ago, at night, you were walking in the heavy rain and a car stopped to offer you a ride," He began, his eyes fixed on me with seriousness as his body blocked my way, keeping me trapped in my own home. "You got into that vehicle and did something unspeakable," He smirked as realization finally hit me across the face. "You?" I gasped, recognizing the handsome stranger I foolishly had s*x with in his car! How did he find me? Not just that, he still remembers my face after that brief encounter? "You left me hanging that night. You didn't even give me the chance to reach the peak before you ran off. You just left... That's not fair," He spoke with disappointment, his body drawing near like a tall barrier, blocking my way. I gulped and immediately apologized for my action, hoping this would send him away. "I shouldn't have done what I did. It was a mistake and I'm very sorry." "I didn't come here for an apology," He revealed, brows narrowed as both hands rested on my door frame like I'm in a cage, giving me a troubling feeling that didn't sit well in me. With one quick glance at my body, he said, locking eyes with me, "You're going to finish what you started." "What?" I was stunned, understanding what he wants. Sex!
