Alpha was puffing his cigarette when his phone vibrated on the table, showing an incoming call from one of his colleague. He smoked a few more times before releasing the cigarette stuck in between of his two fingers and stomped on it without minding the first, second and third vibration of his phone above the table. The incoming call vibration ended. He tilted his head when another incoming call showed up, showing another name of a colleague. Given the first and the second call from different person, he answered, "you all know that I am still on off tonight, right?" He said while still leaning front on the railing, watching the city lights and the night sky in the balcony. "You can enjoy that off of yours later on, brute." He tsked after hearing those lines. He couldn't believe he heard those words. Without thinking twice, he walked as if he own the world until he reached the elevator. A message popped on his phone, a simple information is stated there enough for him to got an idea already. 'I guess I won't see you roaming around anymore, huh,' the message stated. 'How nice. Why did I even asked for an off anyway.' The FBI Director's office was silent when he entered as if it's suits his soon to be fate. It's been long while since he entered that room. He can remember how he hates being in that room with the reason of being reprimanded or being told of just because he never listen. Well, that's what he is. Has his own world, belief and rules that only him who made and can break. "What's up?" He quickly caught the book that was thrown at him when. He blow on it as if there's a dust and put it back on the table. He slumped himself comfortably in the chair. "You really never listen and you never obey what have told you to do, Palmer." Alpha looked at the FBI Director teasingly, "better told that to my mom, sir." "Can you be serious for once, Alpha Palmer?" The FBI Director told him as if he's really losing his patience for Alpha. Alpha gaze at him seriously. "Can you now tell me directly to the point so that I can fully enjoy a very, very long vacation. If you're waiting for me to give you a Resignation Letter—nah—I am too lazy to do that voluntarily." The Director didn't mind what he said. "You're like a son to me. I know you knew about that, Alpha... But I couldn't let this one slide." He sat in front of him. "The person you were trying to bump off is not a just, that's why I have to fire you before anyone will know about what you are trying to do that might fall into the President's lap of information." "Where did your loyalty for that shameless President of yours put you in to, sir? I hope you don't mind me asking that. I was curious, you know. Very, very curious." There's a trace of doubt on his face and he meant to show that. "Your mouth, Alpha. Someone might hear and misunderstood you." Alpha just shrugged his shoulder, unbothered. "As for your information, I am loyal to the people I served, but you, the consequence of your action we are talking about and as like a father to you, I should put you away from any harm that can cause your life." "My life was never away from harm, danger and even from death since the day I made my decision on working in this field." He smirked and intimidatingly gaze at the Director. "You see me as a threat to President. Am I right?" The Director turned into a serious face. "All FBI agents and line attorneys from Justice we served with, swears allegiance to the constitution of the United States not to a political party and certainly not to a potentate or not even to the said person. I am loyal to no one but only to the people I served. I was never loyal to an specific person, Palmer." Alpha frowned. 'What does he mean by that?' "It was great to have seen you doing great and very passionate in this field of work. You even have the guts to bring down a person from the throne...but I can't let you hold a very dangerous case, Palmer." "Just tell me what are you up to." He is slowly losing his patience because of the Director's act of suspense. "I'll fire you so you can do whatever you want and bring down whoever you know who deserve the hardest. If you agree, it's settled. If not, then I won't let you hold that kind of case." "Seems like you have something up on your sleeves, huh. It's thrilling me." He nods his with his brows up. "What's the unsuspicious ground for you to fire me?" The Director glared at him, "since you mention that you're lazy to make a resignation letter, that's enough for everyone not to suspect us and tell everyone I fired you because my patience for you has finally reached its limit. That's all." A laugh escape Alpha's mouth, not expecting the Director's reasoning. "I guess it's a given reason. Sounded pretty awful though, but I'll buy that." "Beat me, Palmer. I have no choice but to let you off. You reached my limit and you're uncontrollable so better send you away." "What's with the act earlier then... Tss." He whispered to himself. "I heard you, Palmer. Learn to whisper more." "I let you heard it, just so you know, sir." He sarcastically said. Without letting a day to pass, Alpha made sure that everything is ready. He waited for the FBI Director to officially fire him without a day letting to pass too. After a few days of fixing everything he needs, he flew back to his mom's home country. He was shocked after hearing from the FBI Director that he already have a new workplace and he was more shocked when he found out that it's in his mom's home country. It's obvious that the FBI Director plan everything, well. 'That old man is really something.' His thoughts.
