Chapter 12

1693 Words
I take in a shuddering breath as I now follow behind the girl who was told to summon me. I'm still wearing the sun dress I put on after my shower, and now I'm thinking that was a mistake. Something tells me that a man like the Ghost will be dressed up in a suit for dinner, and here I am walking towards the dining room in the cheapest sun dress I could find in the closet. I would rather not put on any of that fancy over the top clothing that he purchased for me, or maybe all that was for the woman he said he only slept with. Listen to me, I sound jealous again. I don't know what is happening to me. I don't wish to feel attracted towards that man, but I do and that's precisely what's happening. I despise him for doing this to me, loathe him for paying for me with the intention of using me this way, but also, something deep inside me feels warm when he is around. I know, I sound dumb. I sound ridiculous. I'm not going to fall in love with my kidnapper, I can't. I know little about myself, but I don't think I'm that type of woman. It's just my head being confused, not knowing anything. I'm surrounded by strangers, and something also tells me very dangerous strangers. “He will not be happy that you're late.” The girl snapped, as she waved her hand towards the archway leading to the dining room. “What's your name?” I asked her. I feel bad about the things I told her a few moments ago. It's not her fault they kidnapped me. She said Ghost found her and helped her out of a very dangerous situation. Of course, she would be loyal to him. “It's Hannah.” She sighed. “He is in there. Have a good meal, Aria.” I watched her walk away, her high heels clicking against the dark wooden floor, as uneasiness rose inside me. Taking a slow, deep breath, I walked through the archway and saw Ghost already seated at the dinner table, his phone in his hand. “You're late.” He growled as he tossed his phone onto the table. “Next time, I expect you to be sitting here waiting for me, not the other way around.” “I wasn't informed about dinner until a few moments ago.” I snapped and remained standing under the archway, unsure of where he wanted me to sit and not wanting to ask. “What are you wearing?” He asked, disgusted. “You were told this was a dinner, correct? Not some picnic. I expect that next time you will also be dressed better, or you can go back to walking around in just your bra and panties. Doesn't matter to me.” Asshole, I screamed inside my head as I looked at him, confused and angered. What is wrong with what I'm wearing? It was in the closet! “I found it in the closet, and I was not informed that I had to dress up for the occasion, Ghost. Maybe next time, have the maid give me the appropriate details so that I can know how I am supposed to be dressing.” I suggested in a snarky tone. As soon as I said that, I regretted it. I may not like the girl who's acting like this isn't some type of hideous crime, but I still don't want to get her in trouble with him. He may hurt her. From all the threats he has been dishing out, he doesn't seem like the type of man that's against hurting women. “She is not a maid. She is my assistant. Don't disrespect her like that. Do you f*****g hear me?” He growled and waves his hand towards the chair sitting opposite of him. “Sit” I bit my tongue, fighting the urge to reply, and took my seat, keeping my eyes directly in front of me locked on him. “I have a list of rules that you will need to follow now that we are home. You will obey each and every one of them, or you will end up underground. Do you understand?” He snarled and waited for me to answer. “Yes.” I whispered harshly. I f*****g understand, you asshole. “Yes what?” He demanded, a cold mask shutting over his face. “What?” I asked, confused. I said, yes, what more does this man want from me? “Yes sir.” He growled. “That's rule one. You will regularly address me as sir.” Sir? Does he actually expect me to call him Sir? “Yes sir.” I grinned out, the words almost making me choke. “Rule two. You will always be seated here waiting for me for every meal that I am home for. Rule three. Occasionally I travel for work. You will come with on some occasions. On the days that I am not, you may do whatever you wish around here, but just know I will watch your every move.” He informed me before taking a sip of his drink. “If you give my employees any trouble, I will lock you up, and I don't mean locked up in your bedroom.” What the f**k? “Yes. I am aware I'm a prisoner here. No need to remind me.” I snarled, before adding. “Sir.” “Good, I'm pleased to see you're not as dumb as I thought you were.” He replied just as an older man came carrying in two plates, one balanced in each hand. “Here you go, sir. Enjoy. Cook said it's pleased to have you back.” The man mumbled before placing the plate in front of Ghost. “Thank you, Harold. It's always satisfying to come home.” Ghost replied kindly, which shocked me. The man smiled before turning towards me and placed a plate of roasted duck in front of me. “Ma'am.” He spoke gently before turning and walking away. “That's Harold. He has been with me for years. I expect you to show that man respect and kindness. Never let me catch you giving him a hard time.” He before picking up his fork. “I'm not like you. I'm not mean to people that have done nothing towards me.” I snapped and, unlike him, ignored my food. “Ironic.” He grunted before he took a bite of his duck. “Damn, I missed Rosie's cooking.” I don't pick up my fork for several minutes, I just kept my eyes on him. I'm feeling uneasy. He has treated to kill me multiple times, and now I'm thinking maybe the food could be poisoned. “Why are you not eating, Aria?” Ghost asked, sounding annoyed that he was having to stop eating to ask. “I don't know, perhaps because I'm terrified of dying, sir.” I suggested, tone full of attitude. “You think I'd kill you by poisoning you? Stupid b***h. If I wanted to kill you, poison wouldn't be the way I'd do it.” He snarled. “Never insult my Rosie's cooking unless you don't wish to be allowed in the kitchen.” “Walking into the kitchen would mean I felt at home here, and I can assure you, sir. That will never f*****g happen.” I snapped back. I need to learn to keep my mouth in check before he really does do what he keeps threatening to do. I don't want to die. "I couldn't care less whether you felt at home here or not. You are here for one thing and one thing only.” He grunted before asking. “Want to guess what that is, pet?” “I know why I am here, Ghost. You have done, informed me plenty of times why I am here. I'm here to be your slave for something that I didn't even do.” I shouted, my temper flaring red. “The reason and the only reason you are here is for my pleasure. In whatever form I deem necessary.” He growled before going back to eating his meal. We sit in silence for several minutes. Ghost looks like he missed home-cooked meals, as he doesn't even bother to look up at me to check again if I'm eating or not. “Why do you need to purchase women to have s*x with you?” I asked, still not touching my food. “You think I had to buy you for me to get f****d?” He laughed before smirking. “I don't have any trouble finding warm cunts to sink deep inside of Aria.” So vulgar. His mother must be so proud to have raised a son like him. “Then why were you at a s*x slave auction, Ghost?” I asked, curious. I'm not blind. I see him. He is a good-looking guy, a little too good-looking and if we wasn't in this position, if he didn't purchase me, I would have taken a second look at him. “You think I was there because I needed a b***h to wet my d**k? No. I was handling business.” He snarled, looking very annoyed with me at the moment. Good, the feeling is entirely mutual buddy. “And you went ahead and wasted ten million dollars on a girl that you don't know nor need. Did you just want someone you could boss around? Someone to hurt? Is that the type of man you are?” I demanded to know. “You don't know the type of man I am, Aria, not yet, but you will. Soon.” He growled and slammed his fist down against the table. “Keep running your mouth, and I'll find a way for it to be of better use to me.” He added smirked, and all I wanted to do was slap that smirk off.
