I am holding my head up and following slowly behind Ghost and Roman. The security team that lines the trees has not moved, but that does not stop me from looking back every couple of steps. It is embarrassing having to walk like this and the fact that none of the men even seem mildly upset about the situation.
How many women have Ghosts taken?
How many have the men seen women walking around the place in nothing but their bra and panties?
The questions just keep on forming inside my head, and I can't shake them. Roman is walking directly on the side of me and Ghost keeping his body between his but off to the side. His gun is still drawn in his hand.
“What do you think is going to happen?” I scold him and give him a confusing look. I mean, we are on an island. Miles into whichever ocean we are in. Who would even find us here?
“As you and Ghost's bodyguard, I need to always be prepared, Miss. Aria.” Roman says softly, without even looking over toward me. He keeps his gaze looking around, with determination written all over his face.
Well, he seems to have some manners at least, that is much more than I can say for Ghost. Who hasn't even looked back to check on me? I know I probably just sounded needy, but hell. He brought me here. He could at least make sure I am okay. We have been walking for what feels like fifteen minutes and with the drugs still in my system, I feel like I am about to fall over.
“Why do I need a body Guard, If I am just a slave?” I hummed the question at Roman, not expecting an answerback.
Beautiful birds are flying around us and I catch myself falling behind just to stare at them. They are landing on the tree limbs and pecking at the bark.
I was not watching where I was stepping because the next thing I know, I am falling into the hot sand. Stupid freaking heels. I sigh loudly and jerk them off my feet before tossing them ahead of me, and I aim right for Ghost's back.
“Take these damn shoes! How am I supposed to walk on the sand in heels?” I snarled, and slowly climbed to my feet. Sand is now sticking to my skin on my arms and legs. I quickly brush them off, watching as all the sand falls back onto the ground at my feet. “This is ridiculous. My life has become a joke! I have been kidnapped, sold, and now I am having to walk through a f*****g beach and trees towards god knows where. How much longer?” I snapped and watched as Ghost stopped walking, and slowly turned around to face me.
I think I should run.
I should watch my attitude toward this man.
"Are you finished with your bitching?” He snarls, his eyes flashing darkness as she scolds down at me. “We have a few minutes left. We would get home much faster if you would stop talking and watch where you are going!” He snapped.
“No, actually, I am not finished. My life f*****g sucks! I do not remember a damn thing and only know what you have told me. How would you like to wake up and not remember s**t about your life, huh?” I growled and marched ahead of him. Leaving him and Roman behind me in my fury steps.
He is such an asshole.
I wish I could slap him.
I do.
"That is not my fault. I am not the f*****g one that stole you in the first place. I am not the one that drugged you. I should have, though. Maybe I can get back home faster without your mouth running!” Ghost shouted at my back. I don't even look back, I just keep walking, not even knowing where the hell I am walking to. I am certain that if I was going the wrong way he would say something, so until then, I would rather not look at him.
“No, but you bought me! For your sick, twisted s**t. s*x slave? You don't even seem to be the type that needs to pay women to f**k you, Ghost!” I shouted and tripped again, but this time I was able to catch myself before completely falling down.
My fingers dug into the warm sand and I watched as a crab crawled over my hand, making me jump back up so fast that I fell back on my ass.
Do crabs bite? Those are some large claws that would have hurt if they had pinched me.
Good god, this place is dangerous.
“What now?” Ghost sighed loudly, annoyance ringing through his body. He brought his hand up to his face, pinched his nose, and shook his head.
“I tripped, and a crab crawled over my hand!" I cried, feeling embarrassed that I have fallen again. I guess I learned another thing about myself. I am clumsy.
“You are scared of a crab?” He snarks and removes his hand from his face, as he walks slowly toward me.
“Yes! Those claws were huge! It could have snipped off one of my fingers!” I screamed, frustration filling my voice as my body starts to shake from anger.
“You have two choices, Aria. One is I will carry you the rest of the way-” I raised my hand, stopping whatever else he was going to say with a shake of my head.
“I do not want you to touch me!” I growled and hurried back, onto my feet.
“Two, you can shut the f**k up and walk. When I say I am ready to get home, I mean it. I have been away for months working, and I would like to get home.” He says, raising one of his eyebrows waiting for my answer.
“I will walk!” I snapped and began walking again. I should have made him carry me. That's what he deserves. Make him regret bringing me here, but I do not want to be in his arms.
I want to go home, wherever home for me is.
“Then shut the f**k up and walk!” He snarled and followed closely behind me, I could feel the heat from his body pushing against my back.
“Do you need to walk so close? It's hot as hell out here.” I grumbled, I'm hot in my bra and panties. Ghost must be dying in that black suit he is wearing. It's really nice looking, but the sun beating down on us has to be making him hot.
“I am walking close so that if you fall I could catch you. Don't say another word. You're just pissing me off.” He grunts.
Well, I will never admit this out loud, but that was a bit sweet. He is still such a butthole, though.
“I would not fall if I had the proper clothing on.” I sassed, finally seeing a trail in the trees and shade.
Thank goodness.
I am starting to sweat.
“Be a good girl, and maybe I will give you proper clothing.” He says in a hard voice. I hate that voice, it's like he has zero freaking emotions.
“I have been! I have not even tried to run away! I think I deserve some damn clothes, Ghost.” I shouted, and I froze as I watched animals bust out in a run away from us.
Sorry, animals.
I was not shouting at y'all, just the asshole behind me.
“You are not running because you have nowhere else to run to. I am not stupid, Aria. If given the chance, you would run.” He snarled, sounding pissed off now.
Goodness, the damn mood swings with this man, I cannot take it.
“Duh. Can you blame me? Who actually wants to be a s*x slave for a man they do not know?” I growled before I started to walk again. Through the trees, I see a large house coming into view. We are almost there, thank god.
“No. I would not blame you. There is no way off the island but to swim. So unless you want to drown, I would not suggest it.” He drawls.
“I don't even know whether I can swim or not.” I scuffed and squinted my eyes, trying to force them to see more as the house comes closer into view.
It looks gorgeous. It's dark brick, has to be at least three stories high and windows, oh my goodness the windows are everywhere.
You would never expect to see a mansion like this to be in the middle of an island. It looks like it could sleep at least ten people and still have plenty of room.
“Is that it?” I asked softly, finally walking out of the trees and into the open yard, staring up at the house in amazement.
“Yes.”
He does not say another word, just starts to walk towards the front porch, leaving me behind, gapping like a fish out of water.
“Who lives here?” I asked and hurried behind him.
“You, Roman, and Me.” He grunts and taps something on a screen, next to the front door. “I have a few house workers as well. They sleep in the area above the kitchen.”
“Why do you need such a huge home for just three people?" I asked as I stepped onto the front porch, Roman close behind us.
It seems like a waste of money to have a house this big for just two people. I know he said three, including me, but still.
"I like space." He shrugs, as the door opens.
"Where does the security team sleep?" I asked, as he walked inside.
