Weeks laterTheo carried a picnic basket with one hand and held Allie’s hand with the other as they walked to their favorite spot on his future parcel of land. He set down the basket and turned to her. “Do you know what this is?”
“A hill overlooking the harbor?”
Theo blinked slowly. “Let me rephrase that. Do you know what day this is?”
day“Saturday?” She had no idea what he was getting at.
He shook his head, but his mouth curved up at the corner. “Allie Pidgeon. It’s our anniversary!”
She narrowed her eyes but didn’t bother with the math. “We haven’t known each other long enough for an anniversary.”
“A month. It’s our one-month anniversary. You’re not exactly the romantic type, are you?”
“Yes! I am, but I was lost for a minute.” She smiled warmly. “Happy anniversary.”
