Adeline's shriek had startled Adrian. He only came to his senses after a long while, and he barked, "For God's sake, shut up! What are you yelling for?"
Adeline was still trembling in fear. With a shaky voice, she asked, "Are y-you human? W-Why are you here?"
"What kind of question is that? And why are you asking me why I'm here? You should know the best!" Adrian replied through gritted teeth.
Hearing Adrian's words, Adeline vaguely recalled running into something as she fell down the slope. She didn't manage to avoid it, and so, she assumed that this person was what she had brought down here with her.
