- MEADOW HILLS, FORMER SUNSET PACK HOUSE- His blond hair covered his wet face with tears. Stray hairs stuck on his cheeks as he seeped sorrowfully. He sat in the middle of the ruins with spitfire all around him. Ahead of him were the burned bodies of his pack members. They lay there lifeless while their souls had been reaped. In his half burned right hand stuck a tainted picture labeled : HARLEY BLAKE AND ME. Mac's P. O. V I lost everything in just one moment of weakness. They came so prepared. Why? Why did this happen? All I know now is that I cannot stay like this. I have to get up and avenge my pack, so Goddess help me. Ugh, who am I kidding, my body hurts. I lay on my back and stared blankly at the sky for as long as I could remember. I watched what was left of the afternoon su set as the moon rose. I'm still in pain and helpless. I must really must up my strength now. As I got up from my spot, I heard soft and calculated footsteps coming from behind me. Harley? I looked back with joy and a broad smile, only to be disappointed. I was amazed by an unfamiliar figure, smells like a rogue. He doesn't seem to be injured at all. He walked through the fires and observed everything around him. That's quite odd. I'm probably going to get murdered too. As he neared, the first feature of him I saw was the ghastly scar across his face. His eyes were cold and unreadable. I'm not the type to be scared easily, but he's got a dangerous aura around him. Hopefully he won't fight me. I'm exhausted. "Hey, I've never seen you around here. Who are you?", I asked in my normal chilled tone. Alpha Mac style. That brat didn't bother saying a word until we were a few inches apart. He played with his blue-tapered hair and looked at me with lazy eyes. Did I bore him or is he plotting on how to finish me off? His words instantly pulled me out of my train of thoughts. "Oh hello there, nice mess you made", he said with a chuckle. "So how much do you charge for this much damage?" "What?", I said, confused, "What are you saying? I'd never betray my own pack like this, let alone accept rewards for doing that!" Is this guy nuts or what? All he does is laugh maniacally. "Chill out man, I was just playing. I almost mistook you for Magnus Tavelli" he said. He seemed as though he was familiar with this area, judging from the way he walked around comfortably. "Magnus... Wait, who's that?" "Funny, you don't know him, the infamous Alpha Red." "Oooooh, so what, you're friends with that demon of a wolf?", I scoffed. "You see I wouldn't call him a friend, more like a bug I want to crush", he said nonchalantly. I don't know what to make of this peculiar person just yet, but he doesn't have the look of someone who has the intention of killing me. Maybe not yet. - WINDCREST PACK HOUSE - "Got something to say", she said. She pounded her fist on the table and gave both men menacing looks. "Who?", said Kyle. "Who? Don't play dumb with me Kyle, both of you!", she said. "For what woman?" "Kyle stop. She's right, we both owe her an apology." He rose from his seat, drew in a long breath and massaged the back of his neck. He pulled out a chair and gestured Harley toward it. Harley resisted and maintained her stance. She demanded attention, placing her hands on her hips. "Harley, please si- She gave a dismissive wave of her hand. "Alright then", sighed Lincoln. "You know what, I've had enough of this. If it wasn't Cassy and that- " That's my mate- "Shut it Lincoln! If it isn't her and that Norris doctor, then it's you and this grim thick head beta of yours", she said in a flat tone. She pinched the bridge of her nose as tears streamed down her angelic face. She opened her eyes and studied them intensely. "I can't believe this", she said under her breath. "Look Harley, I believe I made it clear to you that I won't cater for you", said Kyle. "Don't you see yourself?", he said as he stood up hastily, "You're being a burden, pushing away everyone around you. We're all trying to help here, despite your destructive personality." They both stood in silence as they stared into each other's eyes. Harley"s P. O. V I can't believe this, he literally just called me a burden. I think it's time I really left this suffocating place. As Kyle looked at me, I felt my body shiver uncontrollably and those damn tears just didn't stop burning in my eyes. Once again, I'm breaking down in front of these people, so pathetic of me. And him, Lincoln, my supposed 'brother'. He just sits there and watches, only talks when I bring up his precious Luna. Goddess help me because I, oh I am going rogue. I left those two alone and rushed past the other pack members as fast as I could. What a surprise I came to, our beloved Luna is trying to block me from leaving their territory! This day couldn't get any worse. I guess it's time I broke my bond with them. It's going to be painful but definitely worth it for me. Wait, is she using dark powers? I've had this experience before, but not with a werewolf. Good Goddess! If looks deceived, that would be Cassy. What in Nermia did she do to me? I feel like I'm falling with each step I take. I'm so dizzy and my eyesight is blurring sporadically. It's dark, but I have to get as far as I can before taking a rest. "Where are you going", a soft feminine voice said. "Wait, who's there?", I said. I cannot go crazy just yet. I believe I'm still young for- "Where are you going, Harley Blake?", the voice said again. Oh no, this cannot be ha- - WINDCREST PACK HOUSE - It was dinner time and, as usual, the tables were fully occupied by pack members chatting and eating together. The first table had Lincoln and Cassy seated beside each other. In the row beside Lincoln sat Kyle, Max and Abe. In the row beside Cassy sat Kassidy, Troy and the rest of the pack members. "Every time things don't go her way she runs off into Nkanyezi knows where!", said Kyle. "I wonder why", whispered Troy and Max. The nearby pack members went silent. "What is she, a five-year-old?, he said, glaring at Troy and Max. He roughly cut through his food and chewed angrily. His veins had become visible on his neck and arms. Gulping down the water unsparingly, he slapped his hand onto his forehead. Most of the pack members on the table noticed him and exchanged looks and murmurs at each other. "Kyle!", said Cassy. "What?", said Kyle. "Watch your tone when you speak to me", she said. "Sorry, my Luna", he bowed his head. "I won't be tolerating your nonsense anymore, you're becoming a thick head indeed. We can't even eat peacefully because of you. What has gotten into these days?" "I - "Stop right there, are you trying to speak to me?" The entire dining hall went silent. Only soft sounds of utensils could be heard. Not a single wolf dared to speak. Her eyes squinted as she glanced at him. She pursed her lips and kept her jaw clenched. She steadily picked up a glass of blood-red wine and drank from it without ever removing her eyes from Kyle. "No my Luna", he finally said. "Now listen to me carefully", she put down her glass,
