Mandy's POV
Margaret called back not long after I left the office.
The moment I answered, her voice burst through the phone like a storm that had been waiting to break.
"You've really gone too far this time!"
I pulled the phone slightly away from my ear.
"What exactly did I do?" I asked calmly.
"Don't pretend you don't know!"
Her tone was sharp. "You deliberately called Susie while she's sick!"
I frowned. "Can't I call her?"
"How dare you disturb my daughter with your personal frustrations?" Margaret snapped. "You clearly wanted to provoke her!" She shouted so loud against my ear.
I leaned against the wall outside the office building.
"For years you've been jealous of her," Margaret continued. "Now you're trying to stir trouble again."
