Location: Isla’s Apartment – Midnight
Isla sat on the edge of her bed, staring at the text message on her phone.
Unknown Number: "If you think Ethan is telling you the truth, you’re wrong. Meet me tomorrow. I have something you need to see."
Her heart pounded. Who was this? And what did they mean by “the truth”?
She glanced at Ethan, who was sitting on the couch, running his fingers through his hair. His expression was unreadable, but something about his body language made her suspicious.
"Ethan," she called hesitantly.
He looked up. "Yeah?"
She hesitated for a moment before showing him the message. "Do you have any idea who could have sent this?"
Ethan’s eyes darkened as he read the text. A shadow crossed his face, something almost… panicked.
"No," he said, too quickly.
Isla’s stomach twisted. He was lying.
"Ethan," she pressed, her voice sharper. "What are you hiding?"
He exhaled, shaking his head. "I’m not hiding anything, Isla."
"Then why do you look like you’ve seen a ghost?"
Ethan stood up abruptly. "Because whoever sent this is trying to mess with your head. And I don’t want you to fall for it."
Isla folded her arms. "Maybe. Or maybe they’re trying to tell me something you won’t."
Ethan flinched.
Before he could respond, Isla’s phone buzzed again.
Unknown Number: "Meet me at Blue Haven Park. 11 AM. Come alone."
Isla’s pulse spiked.
Ethan saw the message and cursed under his breath. "You’re not going."
Isla scoffed. "You don’t get to decide that."
Ethan clenched his jaw. "Isla, I—" He stopped himself, his fists tightening. "Fine. Do whatever you want. But don’t expect me to stand by and let you get hurt."
With that, he grabbed his coat and walked out, slamming the door behind him.
Isla let out a shaky breath. Whatever was going on, she was going to find out.

Location: Blue Haven Park – 11 AM
The morning air was crisp as Isla made her way through the park, scanning her surroundings.
"Who the hell am I even looking for?" she muttered under her breath.
Then, she saw him.
Ryan.
Her breath caught.
He was leaning against a tree, hands in his pockets, watching her with a strange expression—part regret, part concern.
"Ryan?" Isla frowned. "You sent those messages?"
He sighed, stepping closer. "I had to, Isla. You need to know the truth about Ethan before you make any decisions."
Her heart pounded. "What truth?"
Ryan hesitated before pulling out his phone. "See for yourself."
He played a video.
Isla’s blood ran cold.
On the screen, Ethan was standing in a dimly lit bar, talking to a man Isla didn’t recognize.
"You have to make sure she doesn’t find out. She can’t know the real reason I left," Ethan’s voice said.
Isla’s heart cracked open.
Ryan paused the video. "Ethan isn’t who you think he is, Isla. He’s been lying to you from the start."
Tears stung her eyes. "Why are you showing me this?"
Ryan exhaled. "Because I still care about you. And I don’t want to see you get hurt again."
Isla looked away, her chest tightening.
She had wanted to believe Ethan. But now… she didn’t know what to think.

Location: Ethan’s Apartment – Afternoon
Ethan opened the door, surprised to see Isla standing there.
But the look on her face made his stomach drop.
"Tell me the truth, Ethan," she demanded, her voice trembling. "What were you hiding from me?"
Ethan sighed, rubbing his face. "Isla, I—"
"Don’t lie to me."
His shoulders sagged.
"Fine." He swallowed hard. "The reason I left you wasn’t just because I was scared. It was because… someone threatened me."
Isla froze. "What?"
Ethan looked away. "Your father."
Her breath caught. "My father?"
Ethan nodded. "He came to me the night before I left. Told me I wasn’t good enough for you. That if I really loved you, I’d walk away. And I was so broken already… I believed him."
Isla’s hands clenched into fists.
Her father had done this?
"Why didn’t you tell me before?" she whispered.
Ethan exhaled shakily. "Because I knew you’d hate him for it. And I didn’t want to come between you and your family."
Tears welled in Isla’s eyes.
She didn’t know what to believe anymore.
Ryan had shown her proof that Ethan was hiding something. But now Ethan was telling her a completely different story.
Had her father really interfered in her life like this?
Or was Ethan still lying?

Location: Isla’s Apartment – Night
Isla sat alone, staring at the city lights outside her window.
Her mind was a mess.
Ryan’s video.
Ethan’s confession.
Her father’s interference.
She felt like she was drowning.
Her phone buzzed.
Ethan: "Please let me explain more. I don’t want to lose you again."
Another message came in.
Ryan: "I know this is a lot, but you need to decide who you can trust."
Isla shut her eyes.
Who did she believe?
And more importantly… who did she love?

Somewhere in the city…
A man in a dark suit sat in his office, scrolling through his phone.
A picture of Isla flashed on the screen.
A smirk curled on his lips.
"It’s time to end this game."
He pressed send.
Unknown Number: "Meet me tomorrow. You’re in danger."
