We stayed a couple of hours with the Royal pack so Chase could catch up with everyone. The women spoke to me a little, but I know it’s too soon to expect anything more. I do look forward to the day when I belong somewhere. However, I know it’s going to take work. Trying to win over Chase’s pack isn’t going to be easy.
The plane ride doesn’t take long to get from Wyoming to California, but it’s well after midnight when we get to Chase’s house. With everything going on, the weak Kara would be exhausted, but now that my wolf is back, I’m exhilarated, desperate to run in the woods.
Evangeline yawns as we walk through the front door, and I carry her bags upstairs to the guest bedroom. She stumbles in and flops down on the bed. “I feel like I could sleep for days.”
