"Keep up with this attitude, and you'd be dead in no time." Cae muttered under her breath as she pulled Gwendolyn after her.
She didn't let go of her hand until they stopped at a cottage deep inside the forest surrounding Nightshade Pack.
She pushed the door open and turned around.
"Get in." She ordered.
But Gwendolyn wrenched her arm away from her grip.
"I don't need your help."
"Get in! Now!" Cae repeated, her voice loud and sharp.
Gwendolyn stared at her uneasily, distrust evident in her eyes. Then she stepped into the cottage.
The smell of freshly baked bread and bacon assailed her nostrils when she entered the dimly lit sitting room.
Cae shut the door behind her and pulled the curtains open, permitting the sunlight to brighten the room.
