Chapter Thirty-One Josephine walks along the noisy galley kitchen. The cook claps his hands together urgently and points at hot fish coming from the frying pan. The kitchen hand wraps it up with a portion of steaming chips and stacks them into a thermal bag for home delivery. Salads are being tossed and piled up ready for dispatching. The manager points to the rumbling dish washer and the large, humming, plate stacked dryer. He speaks up loudly to Josephine. “So, you think you can handle these machines? We do need extra staff for the evening shift. If you can start today, the job is yours.” “Yes. I have used both of these machines before, and yes I can start today. So that is a yes all round then, great. Thank you very much, for this opportunity, I won’t let you down.” They shake hands
