Chapter Forty-Four
Bob passes his phone to Jim. They are standing on the dimly lit platform next to the large round water tank. The water is still, like a mirror.
“What do you mean. He sounded defeated? Ickeman is the best we have. Now call him back Jim! Find out what is happening! I have informed our grandfather that we will be having the double execution here tonight!”
“He said. There was four of them. Four women Bob. That we have to prepare. That he has let us down. That they had killed his team.” A dull crack and grating noise startles them both. They stare into the dark void surrounding the platform. The black wall moves and transforms into a shape as the grandfather appears from the surrounding empty space, dressed from head to foot in mat black leather.
