Chapter Twenty-Seven
Josephine stands in a tidy motel room assembling a light weight black pistol, slowly screwing the silencer onto the barrel. She places it into one thick black sock, then into a woolly mitten. Taking a pen she loosens the wool making a hole through the trigger guard. Another sock is filled with small caliber ammunition clips and placed into the matching mitten then tied to the first, by a thick rope cord. She hangs it around her neck. The mittens sit neatly across her chest. Josephine wraps a wide black scarf around her neck and over the top of the mittens.
A large brown folder containing photographs of Jacqueline and Matilda sits opened on the small round table in the modestly decorated bedroom. Josephine looks closely at each one then reads the detailed print outs.
