Chapter Seventeen
Ping! The lift door slides quietly open, entering into the expansive luxurious hospital lobby. The music plays softly. A burly security guard runs at speed past Matilda and Jacqueline as they walk slowly from the peaceful chamber smiling and chatting. He side steps the alarmed people coming in and heads through the security check point entrance and double glass doors to the large car park at the front of the main building. A woman screams out hysterically by the doors. She picks up her small child and staggers into the lobby still screaming.
“He has a gun, I saw his gun. He is going crazy. I think he killed that woman. Help! Help! Somebody call the police!” The child starts crying and clings to his mother’s clothes. She trips on the entrance mat and falls to the floor o
