It's morning and I'm sitting on the porch at Café Courage. It was a very beautiful day. Bees were buzzing, the sun shone brightly and I was awaiting for Clyfe, Valerie and Lepi to arrive since we all agreed to meet up.
A few hours later as I was reading a novel, I heard someone talk to the café owner, ordering a drink I immediately recognized. I sat on the chair upstairs, waiting.
"Just take the f*****g money! It's real! If you don't believe me, sue the company making those money for all I care!" Valerie yelled, walking up with a grumpy face.
"Always a bad temper, huh?" I asked her. "Clearly! I mean, how can they not accept those bullions?! Whatever, what's up?" She asked after.
Valerie changed a lot for the past month. She had a crispy blue dress with white ribbons and three large, pink buttons on the torso part. Her hair was all pink, but in a darker tone.
We sat there, talking for a good hour, until we heard some clattering downstairs. "What the hell?!" Valerie exclaimed. "Let's go check!" I said, running downstairs.
Right there, we saw a probable 6ft tall man who had his wings spreading all over the area. "Who is this?" Valerie asked, confused. "O-OH! VALERIE?! ZYDNA?!" Lepi exclaimed. "I am so sorry for scaring you tw-!" "We were not scared!" Valerie yelled, interrupting Lepi. "Your huge wings were all over this place. What are you?!" She screamed. Lepi tucked his wings onto his back. "I am a butterfly now. After this entire month, I had to get stronger and not get carried from you guys. So I in the end grew into a beautiful butterfly!" He said proudly. "I mean... you look... nice?" I said, awkwardly, not trying to insult the massive wings he got.
Clyfe appeared a few minutes later, with dogfood and dog treats filling his mouth. "Hwi gwuys! How awe ywu!" He groaned. Valerie gagged. "I swear if you spit any of those craps on my new dress, I'll sheer you like a sheep!" She yelled. I stared at Valerie. "Can you be a little more gentle?" I asked. "What do you think?" She rolled her eyes. I sighed, sipping my tea.
As we all were conversating, a small group of people next to us started discussing about something odd.
"Didn't she get jailed for that?" The girl asked. The guy shook his head. "She got through with it since she is a part of the universal government. In my opinion, she should be executed." He said, placing a few coins on the table and walked off with the girl.
"What was all that about?" I asked. "Beats me. Probably nothing that big, I guess?" Lepi said, shrugging. "That did sound something serious, though. Since they spoke about a woman from the universal government." Clyfe replied, scratching his chin. Valerie groaned. "Can we for once stop bothering about other peoples conversations? Can't we just go to a department store and buy clothes or other beautiful stuff?" She said, placing her head onto her hand. I gave a slight nod.
A few hours later, we did as Valerie said, walking through stores. Clyfe was carrying all boxes and bags Valerie bought, barely any room to carry anything more.
We arrived at a small building that had shelves we could rent before we started the tournament. Clyfe and Lepi placed all boxes and bags, covering all shelves. Everyone who was gonna rent a shelf was upset that there were no room left. Valerie rolled her eyes. "What do you mean 'I can't have all shelves'? I obviously will pay you for it!" She scoffed. The salesman crossed his arms. "Everyone need a shelf! You can't just use them all for a whole week, miss!" Valerie screamed. "Ugh! Fine! Selfish old man!" She stomped away to the entrance. I sighed, apologising the salesman for the interruption, walking away.
I grabbed Valerie by her shoulder. "You really need to fix your attitude towards other people." She rolled her eyes, removing my hand. "He is the i***t who wouldn't accept my money!" Lepi crossed his arms. "You literally just told him that you were important and took the shelves!" Valerie scoffed, walking inside the tournament cavern. We all did the same.
As we walked inside the tournament, the humidity was really cold and everything was sparkling. A light smirk would appear. "Welcome, nameless group. In order for you to face me, I require a good team name that will be placed in the newspapers. That is, if you manage to beat me." The voice would start getting stronger and stronger, as a shiny copper-like creature would appear. "I'm Cuporan, I am one of the four bosses of this tournament. This tournament is all about trust and sturdiness. You got two requirements in order to go through this tournament. One is to give me a name, and the second one is to decide which one of you will face me in a one on one battle, while the rest of you walks through the next room. But beware, I may be strong, but you will feel the pressure going up as further you go." He said, clinking his copper-like skin.
We thought for a few minutes, coming up with the name "Protectors of Souls".
"A very bold name from a very dysfunctional group. Now then, who do you seem worthy to face me? Think very carefully." He said in a disarming voice, as his eyes changed in a darker, burgundy color. We discussed of who should face him.
"I should face him. I want you guys to not be the ones carrying me. I want to show you my strength. See you on the outside." Lepi said, giving a smile, as his wings fluttered some dust off him wings. I looked at the determination in his eyes. "Alright, we trust you. Please win." I said, giving him a slight nod, walking to the gate. Clyfe shed a small tear. "That is so sweet of you!" He exclaimed with a whimper, hugging Lepi tight. Valerie shrugged. "If you fail, see you on the other side." She said, smirking, walking with Clyfe through the gate. Lepi exhaled, spreading his wings, floating up in the air. "I hope you won't go easy on me because I will not!" Cupron laughed. "I like your determination and pride, but sadly, you won't be surviving this, buddy." He said, with a small grin.
As Lepi and Cupron would soon battle, me, Valerie and Clyfe walked inside a huge cave. There was steel-like walls and mirrors. "What is this?" Clyfe said curiously. "Either this is some industrial crap, or this is where we will be mushed." Valerie said, teasing. I sighed. "It's not really effective to joke around when we are in a tournament, Valerie." I said, giving her a small stare. Valerie rolled her eyes.
"Whe-he-he-helcome, the trio!" A voice would echo around. Suddenly a man in a hard armor would smash a hole down the ground as he landed from a pillar. "Which of you weaklings are the one to face the knight in shining armor?" He asked, making a bright grin as his teeth shone by the light. We noticed everything on him was in silver, including his teeth. "I will fa-." "Fight me, you stupid spoonbox!" Valerie exclaimed, grabbing her whip. I rolled my eyes a bit. "You sure you're up for it, Valerie? I'm not sure if your bullets can pierce through him." Clyfe said worried." Dude! Stop ignoring what I say! These bullets are special! I can assure your furry little behind that." She scoffed, whipping her whip at a small silver ball, breaking it.
"Very well." The knight said gently. "Now then, 'Valerie'. Let's have a proper battle, I assure you that your father would have you back home." He said smirking. "How do you know about my father?!" She exclaimed. The knight chuckled, removing his helmet. "I was your fathers former colleague of the molding company Sharp Or Lean, the name is Silvent." He said putting the helmet back onto his head. Valerie groaned. "Why couldn't dad come up with a better name?!" She exclaimed. "Anyways, you two, beat it. I got this!" She said, grabbing her gun, clenching her fist around the handle. Me and Clyfe nodded, walking through the gate.
As me and Clyfe stood in the arena of a golden hall, we noticed a female statue. "This is gorgeous." Clyfe said, giving a bright smile, looking up at the ceiling where a massive golden ball was shining with white stars. I walked to the statue, just about touching it.
"Hello there, sweet girl. You like the creations I made by my very own arms?" The statue started talking, putting her hands to her hips. "Welcome to my little den, where everything is made of gold, including me!" She said proudly. "So tell me, which of you will fight me? Remember though, every little misstep, and that will be the end of you." She said, with a annoying giggle.
Clyfe swallowed his pride. "I'll do it." He said, looking at Zydna and the woman. "Aww, that is one cute puppy! I just have to pet you!" She said, hesitantly scratched behind his ear. As I was about to tell her not to do that, Clyfe sat like a dog, stomping his foot onto the ground by the sensation. "Oohh that's the spot!" He said, lightly groaned. I sighed, looking at the woman. Clyfe looked at me. "What? It's against the doggy rules to refuse a free scratch!" He said, looking at me uneasy.
"The name is Goldilocks, and I am such a beautiful woman, even a dirty dog loves me." She said, smirking as she looked at Clyfe. I stared at her. "Don't call him that." I said with a irritated voice. The woman scoffed. "Trust me. Dogs are simple, one scratch at a place they like, they are so obedient. Look at this!" She said, standing up, creating a golden ball out of thin air, throwing it towards a wall. Clyfe barked, running after the ball. I facepalmed. "Clyfe, you need to focus!" Clyfe looked at me, his mouth covered by the golden ball and drool. "Fwa?" I sighed, walking to the gate. "Please win..." I whispered to myself, before I walked to the next room. "This is gonna be a great moment for me." Goldilocks said, laughing a shrieky laughter. I even heard through the door, cringed a bit, walked ahead.
When I arrived to the final room, everything was spacial, even I turned sparkly. As I was wandering around, looking at the views, I accidentally bumped into something hard that clinked. "Do you mind apologising, young lady?" A voice would appear in a stern manner. I flinched. "O-oh, I'm sorry." I said, without thinking. I got confused, since I rarely apologise.
"Anyway. It is I! The most beautiful thing you will ever witness! I'm as rare as Medusa, Mona Lisa, and even the forest nymph! Diamania! I create diamonds. Face me now, weak creature!" She hollered, as stalactites from the roof would pierce down the ground. I managed to avoid a few stalactites, until one caught my sleeve. "Damn it!" I exclaimed. The woman would laugh. "The prey is soon to be devoured by my powers!" Diamania exclaimed.
As I was stuck onto the stalactite, I heard a noise. It was beepy and very echoey. I looked at the microphone Kosmi held from over yonder. "Now! All audience watching. Are you all ready for a big battle?! This is the final group this year for the second tournament! And the theme is.... materials! Copper! Silver! Gold! And the hardest material there is to this date! Can the Protectors of Souls win? Or will they all fall?! Find out now! Grenore, you may begin the count down." She said, giving Grenore the microphone.
