Chapter 3-4

1072 Words

“Who is – Aunt Isabel?” Iola asked curiously. “She’s not my real aunt,” Lucy replied, “but Nanny said I was to call her one. I don’t like her and I don’t like Uncle Charles, who’s her husband. He’s always jumping me up in the air.” Iola felt that it was something she should not ask, but she was interested. “Who else is on the yacht apart from you and your father, Aunt Isabel and Uncle Charles?” “There’re two other people,” Lucy replied. “I can’t remember their names, but they’re not important. I heard Nanny say they’ve only been asked so that they could chap – chap – erone or something like that – Daddy and Aunt Isabel.” Iola stared at the child in astonishment. It was not the way she had expected a child of five to talk and certainly not the way she had talked herself at that age.
