"Do you really want to run and leave here?" River asks me, his green eyes searching my face for the truth as removed his thumb from my mouth. His hand is still resting on my thigh, warm and possessive, and I can feel the heat of it through the thin fabric of the shirt I'm wearing.
I shake my head immediately, the answer coming without hesitation. "No, I don't want to go anywhere. You guys are like home right now. The only home I've had in a long time."
The words surprise me as they come out but they're true.
