Chapter 3: Raven's POV The next day at school was the worst I'd ever experienced. Despite all my efforts to avoid the four Alphas and Hockey star players of Bridgewood Academy, Damon, Kai, River, and Zane….everything I did proved useless. It was as if the universe itself had turned against me, conspiring to destroy the carefully constructed walls I'd built around my new life. I was never the type to seek attention. In fact, I did the complete opposite but not today. Today, that invisibility shattered like glass. The moment they walked into Advanced Anatomy class, everything changed. It felt like they'd been sent straight from hell to torment me, their presence was suffocating the air in the lecture hall. My stomach dropped as I watched them scan the room with predatory precision. Damon's silver eyes found mine first and a cruel smile playing at his lips. Without hesitation, he slid into the seat directly behind me, his knees brushing against my chair. The heat of his body radiated against my back, making my skin crawl with unwanted awareness. River forcefully tapped the shoulder of the girl sitting next to me, she's a sweet sophomore named Emma who always shared her notes. "Move," he commanded, his emerald eyes flashing with alpha authority which made Emma scrambled away without question, and River claimed the spot beside me, his cologne overwhelming my senses. Kai took the seat directly in front of me, turning his chair around so those storm-gray eyes could bore into mine. Zane positioned himself at the end of the row, effectively trapping me between them like prey surrounded by wolves. I felt cornered, physically and emotionally but did everything in my power to pretend they didn't exist. My body stiffened, every muscle coiled tight with tension. My hands trembled slightly under the desk, but I didn't raise my eyes. I didn't flinch or speak. I focused on my notebook, scribbling meaningless notes about skeletal structures while my heart hammered against my ribs. "So this is the sexy stripper everyone thought was just a quiet little nerd huh?" Damon's voice was a low rumble behind me, dripping with mock surprise. "Who would have guessed our innocent Raven had such... hidden talents?" My heart dropped into my stomach and my heart skittered. The blood drained from my face as several students turned to stare. I wanted to scream, to beg them not to speak especially not here, not in public where my carefully crafted reputation could crumble in seconds. "She's quite the performer though, I almost thought she was someone else." River added with a chuckle, his voice carrying across the lecture hall. "Very... flexible. I told you guys I know her scent way too well." Whispers erupted around us. I could feel eyes boring into me from every direction, students craning their necks to get a better look at the girl who'd apparently got the attention of the Famous students in school. My cheeks burned with humiliation, but I kept my gaze fixed on my notebook, my pen gripping so tightly my knuckles went white. "Please," I whispered, so quietly only they could hear. "Stop." "Stop what?" Kai asked innocently, though his storm-gray eyes glittered with malice. "We're just having a conversation about extracurricular activities." Zane leaned forward, his massive frame casting a shadow over my desk. "Some people work very hard to pay for college. Very….physically demanding work and I'm impressed." I opened my mouth to speak, to defend myself, to say something, anything at all that might salvage this disaster. But just then, the classroom door creaked open with an ominous groan that seemed to echo through my bones. Professor Chen stepped aside, his usual stern expression replaced with something that looked almost like pity. "Class, we have two new transfer students joining us today. Please welcome them as they take they take their seats and don't—" My vision became blurry and my blood ran cold instantly, making my entire body tremble. The words died in my throat as two familiar figures stepped through the doorway, their amber eyes scanning the room with predatory intent. It was them….the twin Alphas who had ordered my death five years ago, Alaric and Xavier Kingsley.
