One week later … I pulled my car up to the driveway of Dad’s house and parked it in front of the garage. “All right,” I said, looking at the passenger’s seat, “we’re home. Ready to be back?” Dad sat in the passenger’s seat next to me, wearing a simple white t-shirt, jeans, and tennis shoes, rather than the hospital gown he had spent the last week or so wearing. He looked a lot better than he had a week ago, though he was paler and skinnier than before the vampire attack due to having spent so much time lying in bed.
