It took a moment for everything that had just happened to sink in. Once it did, I grabbed the doorknob and started twisting it, saying, “Lucius? Lucius, are you there? Hello? Lucius?” But no matter how hard I tried, the door just wouldn’t budge. I eventually gave up and stepped backwards, realizing that Lucius had somehow managed to lock the door on the other side. I didn’t even know it was possible to lock a door in the Shadow Way.
