“Get your foot off my hand, jerk! You really want Dad to die, don’t you?” I glared at Elara, who seemed pretty pleased with herself as she dug her high heel into my foot.
She didn’t back off, instead, she pressed down harder. I grabbed Elara’s ankle and yanked it, making her fall to the floor. She screamed in pain, but I didn’t care. I rushed to help my dad immediately.
It didn’t take long for the doctors and nurses to arrive after I hit the emergency button next to Dad’s bed. They quickly checked on him and gave him the care he needed.
A nurse asked us to leave to give them space since Dad was having a seizure from the shock.
