CHAPTER 2:THE PROPHECY REVEALED

1528 Words
After the party, my parents led me to the storage room. I have never been here before, since I was f*******n to take even a single step toward it. Before then, I thought there was kind of a secret hidden inside it. As we entered the old room, it was dark. My father had to light the lamp on the sides of the alley. On the outside, it seemed like a small room. But when you stepped inside it, it was a long alley towards another door. Mom opened the rusty metal door where there was an engraved flower. It was a familiar kind. I remember that this is what I saw before in the Hollows. I tried to read what was written, but I couldn't since the lettering was ancient. "Ornithogalum umbellatum," Dad said as he pushed the door forward so we could pass through. I looked at him curiously, but he did not mind. My gaze went all over the place. There were many unfamiliar things like a golden colored lamp hanging on the wall. My eyes caught a symbol of a star on the wall. It was bigger compared to what was engraved on the door. "Xiara. This place was built a hundred years ago." My mother started. I felt uneasy with these. I want to know the truth, but I am scared. What if it was something I could not handle? "It was when the Great Eclipse happened. The four worlds turned against each other." Father explained while he was looking at the ancient globe. It was brown, and the spaces differed from the earth's structure. "Four worlds?" I asked curiously. "Yes, dear." Mother replied. She was caressing my hair as if trying to calm me. "There was the Luminara, a place where people living there possess the Eternal Light. Also, the world where the people are in control of the land is the Varethis. It is where the land had its various forms." Father said as he shifted the position of the globe, letting me see the two continents on the globe. I was asking myself if this was a kind of fantasy. "The world where there were dark words in the mouth was so powerful that it can manipulate one's mind and past. They have control of time and are known as the echo sorcery possessors." Father continued, and he showed me the land which contains vast mountains and abbeys. "And the last place was known for its natural power. They communicate through nature and can see the past through plants, trees, animals, and the seas. That is the Sylvaris or the Whispering Wilds." I can't help myself but feel amazed by what he says. It was something that I could not grasp. "Are they in this world?" I asked, because those places are not even in the history of the planet, and it was impossible that the people who studied history couldn't know these worlds. "Yes, they exist in the other dimension where people cannot see through their n***d eyes. It was a secret world away from human beings." Mother explained. "No wonder I have never read them in any books before," I said anxiously. "There were clues that humans cannot truly understand. The supernaturals believed by some are part of the other dimension. When people began discovering unique events, they thought it was nothing but these were from the Virelia. The world where the four worlds exist." "It was a world known for its life, vitality, and energy." My mind was in total confusion. Was it all true? I have been studying history for years. Even during grade school, teachers taught us the history of the world. I know how the world began historically. However, not even a single book tells us about these worlds. But at some point, people have different beliefs. "All this information might be hard to process, but it is time you knew the truth about our world," Dad said, his voice steady yet filled with something unspoken. He placed the globe onto the largest of the ancient star carvings, its patterns glowing faintly beneath his touch. At first, I saw people controlling light, letting it flow through their hands like it was part of them. Some used it to heal, their palms glowing as wounds faded away. Others shaped it into buildings, forming structures out of pure energy. The light wasn't just for power—it was for protection, surrounding the people like an unseen shield, keeping them safe. Then, everything changed. The land trembled, and mountains started shifting, their peaks twisting and reshaping until they formed a massive castle. The stone shimmered like it was alive, its walls covered in glowing symbols I couldn't understand. The scene shifted to people speaking words that carried power, their voices shaping reality itself. Their words erased sorrow, bringing light where there was darkness. Others read memories with a single glance, their eyes widening as they began to see the future. Then came the laughter of people who nurtured life itself—growing plants with a mere touch. They spoke to animals, understanding their whispers like an unspoken bond. With every song they sang, trees bore fruit, and flowers bloomed in response. I grasp how peaceful the world is in VerilIia. It was an ideal place for the people who wanted justice. As I was praising the beauty of that world, darkness enclosed the sky and its surroundings. It was a fearful image when people began screaming for their lives. Weapons started to form from the palms of the powerful. Striking arrows of darkness fighting off the light. All was in chaos. Others are dying to protect their loved ones. Some are trying to fight against dark magic and power. That was a fearful scene. I was saddened by the situation. "Verilia was once a peaceful world, but now, because of the desire for power, it crumbled. It took years to be rebuilt. But even though it was able to stand again, darkness tried to make its way." I can sense Father's anger when he talks about that. I felt sad thinking how it ended like that. "Then why did I learn this just now?" "It was a wish from Azriel and Zerick. They were the guardians of the Luminara and were great warriors of the land. And..." Father stopped for a while, as if he was hesitating to continue it. Mother sighed and held my hand too. "They were your biological parents," Father continued. I can the reflection of his eyes. It was sad. I was stunned for a moment and I couldn't understand it. All these years, I have been happy with their parents knowing that they were my parents. But how can this be? I felt my tears starting to well up, but my mother hugged me tight. "I',m sorry, sweetheart. We truly love you as our own". Mother said as she was crying. Dad was clenching his fist as he was looking at us. "It was a chaotic world because of evil desires. We are sad that children like you were killed unjustly." Dad's sadness was present as he was speaking. I am even crying now because I love them both. I was confused and asked too many questions about it. Hours passed, and I learned about the most painful part of me. I was thinking about it more when I was alone in my room. I opened the window and the wind touched my skin. I feel comforted by the feeling I feel as I stare at the window. It was already dark and the lights on the streets were bright. Thinking too much about what happened drew me into a deep sleep. I heard a cracking sound below and as I opened my eyes, I was in the desert. The wind was strong and as I looked up, a swirling darkness filled the sky. In its darkness, there was a faint of light flickering at a distance. I suddenly felt my body moving on its own. My feet are walking on its own accord. As I drew closer, the light grew brighter. I heard a humming whisper around it and the familiar flower, like a star, was shining. It was so bright. "Xiara..." A voice coming from the light called me. My fingers were trembling as I was reaching for that thing that was glowing. A strong force was calling me to it, and I was a bit scared. "Xiara..." A voice called again. As I was about to touch the glowing scepter, I heard a whisper. "The chosen one shall rise, born from the bond of worlds. They will stand at the crossroads of light and shadow, a beacon of hope or a harbinger of destruction. The balance must be preserved, for if it falls, the realms will crumble to dust." It was a whisper but I heard it. Then the light vanished, and I saw a man standing in front of me. Its cloak was again covering its face. He was facing me, but I could completely see his face. I was about to approach him when everything became dark.
