The Smith's House
When they got home from the show, they ate in silence. Nobody seemed to want to say anything. They were all processing the events of the day. After dinner, each wolf went back to their rooms and locked the doors. Nobody seemed to want to be bothered that night, but also no one slept. Throughout the morning, it was still the same until Nicolas spoke at the breakfast table when everyone was finished.
"We have to discuss what the discussion will look like with Hope today." He said quietly. They all looked down at the table.
"I don't think she will be coming home anytime soon," Victoria said in almost a whisper. "To be honest, I don't think it truly matters what we say." The Omega covered her face trying not to cry as she had done all night.
"I agree with Victoria. Although, we do need to keep conversations light for Sarah's sake," Janet said. They all nodded and agreed.
"I know on the weekends we normally take a break from scent blocker, but this weekend was different. I'll call Tabitha and tell her to cancel all our schedules for the next two days so our bodies can take a break from them." Nicolas stated. They all nodded and agreed with him as well. After their mini-discussion, Nicolas took out his phone and called Tabitha and the rest of the members got up to go change. When Paula walked through the door,
"Ma'am, where would you like me to put these?" she said. Katie took them out of her hands and held them tight.
"I'll take care of it. Thank you Paula." The Omega said to the maid. Katie held the items close to her chest. " I got Sarah a plushy and Hope her favorite candy. At least it was her favorite." Katie looked up with big eyes and tears in them. "What if this really wasn't her favorite candy and she was just being nice every time I gave her the candy." Tears now streaming down her cheeks. Janet took her in her arms.
"I am sure she will appreciate it just the same, Katie. Clam down, it want do you are any of us good if we look like we do now when we get to the park. Lets try and look like our best." Janet said, holding Katie in her arms.
"Janet is right, we really do need to look our best, not only for Hope, but Sarah too." Josh chimed in. "I am sure Sergio wants that as well." Sergio nodded his head in agreement.
"Sarah isn't just my pup, she is our pup and we all need to think about the child as well." Sergio stated "Now, let's go get ready to see our pup." He smiled and everyone disbursed to go change.
Meanwhile, at Hope's and Sarah's House.
"MOM! I CAN'T FIND MY PURPLE HAIRBOW." Sarah yelled from her room. Hope walked into her room.
"Sarah, which purple hair bow? You literally have a 100 of them." Hope said, looking at the pup.
"Mom.. the one with the purple hearts on it. It matches my purple jogging pants and heart shirt." Sarah said matter of factly. Hope walked to her large section of hairbows and began to push them around to look for that one.
"If I didn't know any better I would say your already spending too much time with Victoria and Katie." Hope mumbled.
"Mommy, you are so silly," Sarah said as she hugged the Beta. Hope found it and pulled it out.
"Hum... you clearly don't know your pack parents. Next time make sure you have checked every single hair bow before you call me please?" Hope said, patting her back. "Do you need me to put it in?"
"No, mama, I want to do it." Sarah said, taking the hair bow out of her hand. "Thank you!" she kissed her Hope and bounced back to the floor-length mirror. Part of Hope couldn't wait to show the pack just how much she was like them. Then she started to wonder what the days would look like when she was with them and Hope was alone. Pushing the thoughts out of her mind, she will deal with that later. Today was dealing with the pack in general. The Beta stood up.
"Finish getting ready, Mama needs to print something for the pack and then we can go." Hope said. Sarah nodded and went back fixing her hair. Last night, Hope had called her lawyers to tweak the custody agreement and update any information that needed to change. Hope opens her email, documents and then prints.
Hope loves these Sunday walks. The only time they don't take these walks is when its raining. On those days, it's books and cookies, for their quality time. Sarah skips alone holding Sara's hand, talking about different things, like how pretty the trees look or how Toby in Sarah's class brought frog to school in his pocket. Mrs. Yearwood apparently told the class she almost passed out. Turning the corner a few blocks down, Hope could see six figures in the distant. Her heart fell and then began to race. She told her Beta to calm down. "They can't demand anything from us, so calm down." She told her Beta.
The Park.
Standing at the park entrance, the six members were a few minutes early.
"Why am I so nervous? I am more nervous about Hope than I am Sarah." Katie says.
"That's nice because it's the other way around for me," Sergio said. Every one chuckled and saw Josh freeze. When they all turned they all saw what he did. It was the most beautiful sight one could ever see. Hope and Sarah were walking hand and hand. Talking and laughing together. It was like something out of a movie.
"I think we are all in trouble here," Nicolas said. They all shook their heads in agreement. Once Hope got so far she let Sarah go of her hand as she ran towards them.
"Hey, I am so excited you are all here," Sarah said.
"Hey, we are too. We all got you a little something." Katie pulled out the pushy from behind her.
"Oh I love it!" the pup squeaks and turns to her mother, who is just walking up to join them. "Momma, look, they got me a toy." Hope smiled.
"I love it. Did you thank them?" Hope scolded. Sarah turned to them.
"Thank you so much. I will love it forever and ever." Sarah said, squeezing the pushy. Katie then stepped forward.
"We got you something as well. If I recall right, this was your favorite candy." Katie said, giving her the box. Hope took it and looked at the type of candy it was. This was her favorite candy back when they were together, because it was Nicolas's first courting present. He had given the whole pack. Hope smiled
"Thank you, I do like this candy," Hope said. She thought it best not to say anything. She could clearly see they were nervous but she still couldn't smell them? "Shall we go in?" Hope said, pointing to the park. They all nodded their heads and began to walk in. Sarah, skipping in front of them all, they all began to talk about the weather and how long it had been since they had visited this park. Hope kept her eyes on Sarah the whole time to make sure she wasn't doing anything wrong. They arrived at the playground. Sergio and Josh took Sarah to play and she was left with the Omega's and Nicolas. Hope pointed to some benches and they all went to go sit down on them. She reached in her bag and pulled out a file.
"Here are the custody papers. Please have your lawyer look over them before you sign them." Hope said, giving the papers to Nicolas.
"Thank you, but we will do anything you tell us to do when it comes to Sarah. We aren't here to take her away." Nicolas said. Hope couldn't read him or any of them, as a matter of fact. Darn scent blockers. Why did they have to take them today, beyond all days?
"None the same, I think it wouldn't hurt if they looked at it and you added anything you would like in there." Hope said, looking at the Alpha. "I do have one question. Why can't I smell any of you?" They all looked at each other in a panic and then gave her a half smile.
"Oh, its nothing to worry too much about ba.. Hope." Janet said. Hope wasn't in the mood to press them for information, so she let it go. After all, this wasn't her pack anymore, so it wasn't her business.
"Sarah is so beautiful and smart. You did such a good job with her," Victoria said.
"Thank you, its not easy at times, but we manage. I didn't get to ask you all yesterday, but where are your pups?" Hope had assumed that they had some, since the whole reason they mated was to have pups. Again, they looked at each other with a panicked look.
"We...don't have any.." Katie said quietly. Hope had a brief moment of anger to flicker in her eyes, in which her scent must have been laced with it for a second, because the whole table flinched and the Omegas looked down at their hands. All that she went through, all the pain they put her through to mate so they could have pups. Here they are in front of her without the very thing they sold her heart for, her trust and her love, everything now seeming like an even worse dagger than the whole matting issue. She turned from them and closed her eyes to calm down.
"Sorry," Victoria said in a wisper. Hope jumped up like she had been shot. Of course, she felt like they were trying to have the upper hand in this situation and be able to smell her every thought. She was about to lose it, so it was best it didn't happen. Hope turned towards them, meeting Nicolas's eyes.
"I think I will join them," Hope said, in the most calm and cooling matter she could, and walked towards the playground. The ones at the table hung their heads down and for a moment she could have sworn she saw a tear from each of the Omegas. If they were crying, then why? Shouldn't she be the one crying from the hell they put her through all for nothing apparently? Hope just ignored the situation. It was none of her business anymore, for she had separated herself from the pack a long time ago.
They played and laughed with Sarah for the rest of the day. After that conversation, Hope wouldn't leave Sara's side. Even when they all got ice cream she still sat with the pup. After ice cream, they offered to take them back to her house but she declined and they all went their separate ways.
The next day they had the lawyer look at the paperwork, adding a few things to which Hope quickly agreed too. It was signed and filed by the courts. Every night they called and every night Hope would give the phone to Sarah and walk out of the room. The pack hurt the most from that because they wanted to talk to Hope too when they called but she did't want to talk to them. They had no idea how to fix the heartbreak Hope had.
