Moonlit Vendetta

Surprise!!!

Nyx stared once more at the box in her hand, she wanted to surprise Ryder, they'd been dating for over 3 years and she wanted to surprise him for their anniversary. She couldn't help giggling as she rushed to cross the streets, whatever she would give to see the huge smile on his face when he gets it.

Getting to the front porch of his house, she brought out the spare key her best friend had managed to nip from him at school the other day just to pull off this surprise. finally unlocking the door after minutes of fiddling with it, she walked in slowly and with caution, according to him earlier he was sleeping which would make it all the more surprising.

On getting close to his bedroom she heard the muffled sounds of moaning ' was he having a nightmare?' she thought to herself as she walked further, but the closer she got the louder it became, and clearer too. Now it made sense why the house was dim lit, tears welled up in her eyes as she took heavy steps in the direction of the door, she refused to accept the truth she already found.

staring right at the act now it hit her hard... Ryder was cheating, her 3-years boyfriend was cheating. She couldn't stop the tears falling so she cupped her mouth in shock and wept. The stupid Blondie and her boyfriend barely noticed her presence as they went at it like animals. was this because she refused him her body? She could barely understand. Glued to that spot she could only stare as she watched them have the time of their life.

"f**k Nyx, when did you get here... babe it's not what it seems, f**k why're you even here?" Ryder asked in shock swearing continuously.

" Surprise!!! it's our anniversary today" Nyx said amidst tears and rushed off.

Her life suddenly had no meaning, what was she to do, no parents or sibling she only had him, and her bff Avery but he... he was family. How could he!

She hastened her steps when she saw him jumping into his shorts to chase after her, crossing the streets to the road she hailed the first taxi she saw and sped off leaving him in trails of dust behind her.

"Come on Onyx, you're better than this" Avery said as Nyx bawled her eyes out. "Avery you just don't get it. Ryder was my everything, the only one I knew, I don't even know what to do anymore" nyx whined and blew into the tissue for the uptenth time "so what am I? look girl at times you should acknowledge what you have" Avery pointed out "and what's that?" Nyx innocently asked earning a face palm from Avery. "me of course, don't be a dummy and let's pay back. pay back's gonna be a b***h!" Wait hold up! how did things turn out this way. "come off it Avery I'm not in the mood for games" "what games?" Avery asked lifting an eyebrow then went on "you forget I pulled out this surprise and every other scheme you've ever thought of in life, I'm it girl. name what you want and I'll have it so" Nyx's eyes watered as she stared at her bff making the declaration. of course she wanted vengeance, thinking back now to all the things she'd over looked... she needed something to throw off the grief, and what if not payback but... "Avery you need not waste your family's resources for my pleasures" Avery grinned "then on what baby girl... I'm the only child remember, and you're my sister. like it or not we're getting this done"

of course they were, Avery's set on it.

" thanks alot Avery, not like I'm changing my mind but cheating is not really worth the revenge... " nyx reasoned out. " I knew you'd say that, so I made this to remind you every f*****g thing he's done to you. I only held back cause I thought he's changed but that sissy only dated you to rub it in your face, and you miss-bare-minimum might've not realised all these years that it's a scheme. the last time I brought it up we had a huge quarrel, now I didn't want a repeat of that so I helped you for your surprise knowing what was coming. sorry you had to learn the hard way though but you were quite head strong"

playing in the tab that was handed to Nyx was a forty minutes video containing recordings of all the manipulations and bullying of Ryder. instigating the whole school to tag along due to his influence.

"let's do it... whatever you have in mind for him let's do it." Nyx wiped her tears and stilled her heart. she was doing this. " I knew you'd make the right decision!" Avery grinned, nothing got her as bad as a mischief in the making.

" I'm all better now, so while you put your mentals to good use, I've got to get to work, Mr Brown won't like an excuse" nyx flung her bag over her shoulder and quickly fixed her Haggard looking self. perhaps that was why he did that, she couldn't careless about her looks, not like she was ugly or something.

Nyx Maledicta, she had brown wavy hair that takes a millennium to dress, so she always straightened it out. Bright golden eyes that people sometimes considered strange a smooth curved jawline with a small cute pointy nose. okay she wasn't a great definition of beauty but she was cute in everyway. if only she could spare at least 5 to 10 minutes to take care of herself, it was always wash and leave for her. especially cause she had no one to please with looks. Ryder never took her out on a date, all he did was flaunt her around making people tease her and call her all kinds of names thinking back made her gnash her teeth and snap out of her thoughts he wasn't worth it, he wasn't worth her body nor her virginity and now she's glad she kept it. he'd pay for that.

"uhm... onyx, you've been staring, no glaring at my mirror for ages. don't you want to get to work anymore? off you go girl you're not helping me think" nyx chuckled and skipped out but not without yelling back "the name's Nyx, Avery. I'm not Onyx the dragon" Avery chuckled and retorted " you might turn out to be the dragon rider" they both laughed at the silly joke as Nyx left to face her arch nemesis at work. Her boss's little b***h.
