Did my conversation with Mr. Seth proceed smoothly? Of course not. I was asked to leave his room immediately with mocking laughter and a sharp look in my eyes that didn't believe a word I said. “If you want more money than the compensation, you can say so easily, Woman.” He gripped my face quite firmly. Until I found it difficult to breathe. “Don't say such absurd things!” Then he pushed me which fortunately did not cause me to fall down. “You must believe me, Mr. Seth. I can't possibly tell such a risky lie,” I said once again. Trying to get him to believe me. It's for his health, right? “Go away! I don't want to hear your nonsense.” I let out a long sigh. Seeing his rejection, I couldn't force myself. As I walked out of what I assumed was Seth Rapael's private reading room, I bumped into Jiro. The man didn't say a word, just looked at me with an appraising gaze as if I had done something bad to Seth. I bowed slightly politely to get away from this place. My head was spinning with many thoughts; why didn't Seth trust me? I was telling the truth. The proof is that over the past week, I gave him a substitute medicine for the one I was supposed to give, the man seemed much better. Although it has not shown a significant change, but at least, Seth has been able to sit back in the wheelchair with a straighter back. “But... why do I care?” I asked while rubbing the tip of my chin. “Shouldn't I just leave it alone? It's more terrible not to heed Aunt Lisa's words, isn't it? She's the real threat.” I thought like that but my heart refused to ignore one fact. One day, if something bad happened to Seth Rapael and the investigation continued, wouldn't I as his wife, the one who always gave Seth medicine, be a suspect? A premeditated murder case? It may take a while but it's a crime, right? That thought really made me dizzy. “s**t! Why did I get caught up in such a silly game? And why did Aunt Lisa make Seth take that medicine anyway? Is there a reason?” I ruffled my hair in half frustration. The few waiters who saw me acting strangely, could only stare at me in surprise. But I didn't care much about them. My steps immediately rushed to the room. I'd better get some sleep. Tomorrow I'm going to visit Cressa. Instead of constantly thinking about things that I can't think of the answer to. It would be better for me to think about how my daughter and I will survive in the future, right? *** “Don't let yourself not finish it, Cressa.” I smiled widely. Seeing my daughter eating with gusto the soup I made especially for her. “Yes, Mom. It's so delicious. Mommy should make it for me more often.” Today, I feel Cressa is fresher than before. Her face is no longer as pale as when she received extra care. Her smile is also getting wider. Her eyes were so happy because of my visit. Although I was still touched by her condition. Her body looked thinner than before. “I will definitely make it for you, Sweetheart,” I said as I gently stroked Cressa's silky hair. “Hold me, Mommy,” she pleaded. Oh my God! Cressa shouldn't have stayed in this hospital room alone. She must be very lonely and scared but what can we say when Doctor Samuel hasn't allowed her to go home? If the therapy goes well and the blood transfusion doesn't make Cressa's condition worse, maybe Samuel will give permission for Cressa to undergo treatment at home. At that request, I hugged her tightly. Smelling Cressa's scent that I missed so much. My daughter should have been near me, perhaps already attending school in the playground and playing with friends her age. Instead of being busy undergoing various treatments like now and considering the hospital as her second home. “I love you, Mommy.” I couldn't stop the tears from falling. The first time I found out about Cressa's condition, I cried so hard. How could such a small child have to feel pain that I couldn't imagine even though the doctor said the chance of recovery was also great. But during the day with a lot of treatments, isn't it very painful? Why didn't God just give this kind of pain to me? “I love you very much too, Cressa. You are my life, Darling." We hugged for a long time until there was a knock on Cressa's hospital room and someone came in. “Ah, am I interrupting?” I turned around and the person who entered was Doctor Samuel. I slightly loosened my hug on Cressa. “Not at all.” “I'm sorry for interrupting your time a little. But can I talk to you, Larrisa?” My forehead wrinkled questioningly. “Is there something serious going on?” Samuel chuckled. “It's not related to Cressa.” Ah, I think I know where Samuel is going with this. I nodded in understanding and asked Cressa to finish her soup. As well as obey what the nurse said in order to be back with me at home. That child was really obedient. Didn't mind at all the things that were done in the hospital. Perhaps she realized this was the best thing to do for her recovery. “What is it that you asked me to speak to you in private, Dr. Samuel?” I asked in surprise. We were already sitting in the garden not far from Cressa's ward. “About the medicine you asked me about. Is there someone taking it?” I nodded. “Is that very worrying?” “Yes.” Samuel gave me a stern look. “If possible, stop immediately if you don't want any further complications. And have a thorough examination so that we can determine the effects that have occurred.” I paused. “Even under the worst conditions, make sure your patient has the spirit to recover. Because that drug is really making him helpless.” What was I supposed to do? When my honesty was rewarded with suspicion? Our conversation was interrupted by the annoying ringing of my cell phone. “I'm sorry, Doctor. I think I have an important call,” I said as I looked at the name on the screen. Aunt Lisa. "Go ahead. I just wanted to say that.” I moved slightly away from Samuel, picking up the phone that kept demanding my attention. “Yes, Aunt Lisa?” “Are you visiting your daughter?” How did he know that? But my only activities these days were at Seth's house and visiting my daughter. What else? “You're right, Aunt Lisa.” “I want us to talk. Go home.” I said yes even though it was hard because I still wanted to spend time with Cressa. But I couldn't refuse her either. Once in the hotel lobby, someone approached me. Saying that he was Lisa Trumph's messenger. He will take me back to Seth's house. So... I couldn't do anything but follow her. It didn't take long to travel from the hospital to Seth's house which was in another city. the whole trip I only thought about Samuel's words about the effects of the drug. I didn't want to get involved with them. Really. Just replacing my sister with Seth seemed like a big mistake. And I didn't want to sink further into it. Especially when it came to someone's health. “Welcome back, Mrs. Larrisa,” said Rosa, the butler at Seth's house. Ever since I first arrived, the welcome I got was completely unexpected. They all thought of me as the beloved wife of their master-Seth Rapael. They also served me very well. It was as if I was a hostess who really needed to be taken care of. “Thank you, Rosa,” I said with a faint smile. “You are being waited on by Mrs. Lisa and Mr. Seth.” I frowned. It was unusual for Seth to sit with Aunt Lisa. It was always the excuse that he was busy with his work. Was it possible that they actually talked together? I've only been living here for a month so it might be too soon to jump to conclusions. “Are you here yet?” Aunt Lisa greeted me with a big smile. “I'm sorry I'm a little late.” “Oh my,” Lisa chuckled. "You saw your daughter, didn't you? How's her condition?” “It's stabilized enough and the treatment schedule can be continued.” Lisa asked me to sit beside her. “It's good that it's a little better. Don't you want to transfer your daughter to another hospital? One that's closer to home, so you don't have to go to the trouble of visiting her?” “I'll think about it, Aunt Lisa.” I continued to respond to all of Lisa's questions to me even though my eyes occasionally glanced at the man in the wheelchair who had been silent. He seemed to be listening well to our conversation. Although his face looked very forced because he was here. “Is this what I need to hear, Aunt Lisa? Didn't you want to talk about the contract with Leon Group?” That's right, isn't it? She was forced to be in this place. Or was it me who was forced to be here? “I'd better excuse myself because I think your conversation is quite important,” I said as I prepared to stand up and leave them. “No,” Seth interrupted. “Sit there and listen to what we're discussing. You are my wife, right? From now on you have to listen to me talk about what I do.” I didn't understand what Seth was saying. “So... let me judge what your existence in this house is worth.” Seth looked at me with a sharp gaze. As if without words, he gave me an order not to move an inch from this place. I could see that the look of surprise on Lisa's face was well hidden. The woman tried to remain calm. “If that's what you want, my dear niece. After all, the talk of cooperation with Leon Group doesn't contain much that outsiders shouldn't know. And after this, I would like to speak with Larrisa in private. You don't mind, right?" Seth grinned. “Why would you mind? Isn't it good for a relationship? My wife gets along well with you, Aunt Lisa.” I didn't know where their conversation was going. But clearly, I felt like they were talking while holding out swords ready to draw on each other. Is this what the Rapael family is like?
