I freeze in the doorway of Cressa's sickroom. The sight in front of me made me almost incredulous. Seth Raphael, the man I'd always known to be strict and cold, was at the edge of Cressa's bed. Listening to my daughter's endless babbling. Although there was no smile on the man's face, Seth was not at all bothered by Cressa's actions. My daughter with sparkling eyes, showing the drawings she had just made-wait, since when did Cressa have a new drawing book and crayons? Did Seth buy them? Ah, obviously that's not the only problem.
