CHAPTER5

I woke up to sounds of my name Tracy was knocking lightly on my door and calling me I stood up and walked drowsily to the door I unlocked it and opened the door for her, she walked into my room and sat on my bed it was at that moment memories of last night came flooding my head. I told her the incidents of last night. We talked more on the subject expressing her profound displeasure on the attitude of some men. We freshened up and left for work, Tracy owns a female hair salon so I dropped her off at her salon and drove to my work place,I was working for a law firm and I was currently on a case. Two families were having a land dispute, the dispute goes back into their family line, the Williams family bought the land from the Daniels family many years ago.The people involved in the transaction were all dead and gone, and now the Daniels had come to lay claims over the land and the Williams family refused to give the land up, they therefore decided to settle the matter in court

The Williams family were my clients, I was reviewing my evidence for the next hearing in two (2) days time when my phone rang I looked at the phone screen and it was an unknown number, I picked the call, a masculine voice was on the other end of the line he called me by my name sternly warning me to stay off the land case or I was going to be at fault for whatever happened to me. When he finished talking, he hung up, I placed my phone on my table and continued the evidence that I was reviewing. This was their 4th call in three (3) days but I was undeterred by their threats. I've worked on many cases and I have been threatened several times before, I couldn't get scared this time.

Just then there was a light knock on my door, I opened the door to see George, he was the representative of the Williams family. He smiled lightly at me, I moved aside and he came inside, once we were done exchanging pleasantries he told me that he was just informed that Finn a member of the Daniels family had started some construction work on the piece of land this morning. I smiled because his action had given me something to counter them in the courtroom. Firstly starting construction activities on the land when the case was still on showed no regard for the law court, moreso I had recorded few of the threat calls and I was surely going to use it in the courtroom on our next hearing.
