Impatiently Waiting

Kallie’s head spun.  Mate.  He’d called her that multiple times before. He can’t expect her to really understand this nonsense. Maybe it had to do with the fact that she could change into a wolf. Kallie breathed in his scent again and the male testosterone that was laced in nearly drove her to her knees. He was all man and he definitely felt something for her.  As if hearing what she was thinking, his hands started moving on her back. Gently caressing her further. Kallie’s eyes fluttered shut as his hands moved farther down. They brushed the small of her back and landed on her butt. She moved her hips back to make him touch her more ferociously as she could see in his eyes he was capable of.  Immediately his hands moved back to her waist. Kallie opened her eyes and looked at him with a questioning look. He was the one that started it, why wouldn’t he go further? “Not now,” he growled as she ran a finger over his n****e straining at the fabric on his chest.  Kallie sighed and stepped out of his hands. He went back to clenching them so hard that she could smell his blood.  “Time to explain,” Kallie muttered as she looked at her feet wondering why this man would start something so primal just to stop it out as fast as it started.  ------ Kallie followed “tall, dark, and handsome” into an abandoned building. That was what she was going to call him from now on since he still neglected to tell her his name.  “Here’s as good a place as any,” he stated while leaning up against the wooden wall and gesturing towards a stack of pallets.  Kallie rolled her eyes and sat down on the musty wood and waited for what seemed like forever. She watched as he got agitated with himself, pacing back and forth. Her ever calculating eyes watching his steps as he continued for a long time. Kallie let out a long sigh and finally glanced over to her like she had interrupted a meeting she wasn’t supposed to be in.  “Are you going to explain or can I go finish crying about my ruined life?,” Kallie interjected rudely. She was beginning to lose patience in this man.  His head twisted around and he growled at her. Growled! She was on her feet in an instant.  “I knew it! There are more of me! Where are they? Can I meet them? Who are yo..” “ENOUGH. Be QUIET!” The stranger shouted at her. She made a humph and went back to sitting quietly. Though this time she didn’t even bother to watch him. She could hear him moving and there was no sense in continuing to watch the inner quarrel he was having within himself. “How am I supposed to tell her?,” he mumbled. “She won’t understand. Any of it. It will probably just scare her off. I don’t…” Kallie tuned him out and began to think of other days… days after her mother had found out she was a werewolf…
