Aurora's POV
I snuggled up to Brian, but this damn drug felt like fire ants eating me alive.
His usual comfy smell couldn't calm me down.
"Brian, please, just knock me out," I begged, voice shaky as hell.
I was scared shitless that I'd lose control if this kept up.
"Hang in there. You'll be okay," he said, trying to sound chill but I could hear the worry.
"No! I can't! Please, just... knock me out!"
I grabbed his neck, pain ripping through me like I was on the brink of death.
Lilith was hurting too, but I could barely feel her. Maybe I was too weak for our usual mind-meld.
All I felt was pain, pain, and more f*****g pain!
Then, Brian put me in the car.
When he went to close the door, I grabbed his arm like a lifeline.
