Aurora's POV Endless darkness swallowed me whole as a searing pain shot through my chest, making me wince. "Lilith, are you there?" I called out mentally. Ever since that silver blade struck me, my connection with Lilith had grown faint. "I'm here." Lilith's voice echoed from somewhere distant, and I felt myself relax. "I'm sorry, Lilith. I couldn't dodge that blade." I apologized for my stiff movements, sensing her pain. "It wasn't your fault," Lilith explained weakly. "We had just switched bodies for the first time, and our energy was unstable. That's why you lost control." So that was what happened. "The blade was poisoned. Anna was dead set on killing you." Lilith sighed softly before adding, "I need to rest for a few days, but don't worry. I'll be back before the full moon."
