Aurora's POV I shot up from the sofa, scattering the cookies that had been resting on my lap across the floor. But I had no time to worry about that. I stumbled out of the small conference room, practically colliding with Bourne, who was just coming in with a tray of refreshments. The crash of his tray hitting the ground echoed through the hallway as treats scattered everywhere. "Sorry," I muttered hastily, continuing my beeline for the elevator. In my panic, I nearly tripped over my own feet—the wall was the only thing that kept me from face-planting. "Aurora, are you leaving?" Bourne called after me. The commotion caught Brian's attention in his office. He pushed open his door just as I caught his eye. The stern expression on his face softened into a slight smile when he saw me.
