Her tragedy

5 years later;
“Uncle Steve I am ready to go see daddy.” Delores was so excited.
“He will be hear around 3, you have to go to school and he will get you from here after you get back.” Uncle Steve said.
“ I can’t wait,” Dolores said to her uncle.
Delores skipped out the front door looking forward to the afternoon.
During the whole day Delores did nothing but think about getting to spend that weekend with her father. Daddy was staying at the house with her grandparents and her uncle just so she can have this wonderful weekend with him. She hasn’t seen him in several months because he had been gone overseas in the military.
Every chance Delores got she kept talking to her friend’s about the fact that she was going to get to spend the weekend with Daddy.
“ Can you believe it,” she said. “ my daddy is finally home and he’s going to stay the weekend with us.”
At the end of the school day Delores headed back home. After she got off the bus she ran into the house calling for her daddy.
As she got into the kitchen she saw her grandparents and uncle crying at the table. She also saw the police officers standing by the door.
“What’s going on?” She asked. “Where is my daddy?”
“ I am sorry Delores,” her uncle said. “ There has been an accident and your daddy was found in the lake.”
“ No. There is no way my daddy was found in the lake, he was too good of a swimmer,” she yelled. “ You are lying!”
Delores ran out the door and hid in the bushes.
“I am sorry baby, but he went for a swim without anyone with him and did not make it.” Her grandmother said.
“I will find out what really happened to him, “ she said. “I promise that one day I will find out.”
