A young lady around Luna's age entered. Her cheeks were curled up in excitement, her face lacked any kind of seriousness or respect and even get tone was humorous, more Luke mocking.

Luna who seem to recognize the voice owner didn't budge, she closed the books in her hand brighten up her face.

“What you doin' here in the library?” The lady asked slapping Luna's shoulder friendly

“As you can see…” Luna answered and raised her hand for the lady to see the book in her hand.

The lady snatch the book from Luna's hands and read the title “oh, these books” she commented.

“Yeah, Dad had me up here, said it's important I read the history of the pack, especially those of the past Wolflings and how the have their marriages arranged fir them” Luna said as she stood up and return the book to where she took it.

“Boring” The lady commented again

“Yeah it is. My morning today might have been better if you have started your duties early” Luna said

“Come on Luna, I might be your gaurdian but I am also your best friend” The lady said, raised her shoulder and turning around to show of her position

“Guardian, pst, more like handsmaid”

“Don't you call me that or I'll…” The lady tried to threaten Luna with a stern voice but she sounded ridiculous making Luna laugh

“It's okay Canis, next time try not to be harsh, hahaha” Luna laughed.

“Meh, I'm not the one that had a boring morning, infact, my previous nights have been pretty amazing” Canis Saud trying to change the focus from her.

“I do not want to hear about your nights wi…” Luna tried to stop her but failed

“Speaking of books, I have been reading some human novel these days, god, it is great and erotic” Canis started

“Human novel? Where did you get them?” Luna queried.

“Umm...on my phone…online” Canis answered with a questioning look, wondering how naive Luna is “there is a website I read them on. Um… novel…” Canis continued trying to remember the website's name

“I'm surprised suchva website is permitted in the pack, considering dad's ‘nothing to do with humans’” Luna scoffed

“Oh, it's not a permitted site”

“Really! So how did you get pass the ban?” Luna was suprised

“Come on, my mate Cory is quite good with the hacking stuff. I would have told you how but I'm not willing to share my secret with the Alpha's daughter” Canis said, showing off how good her mate is

Luna's sadness came back, she got short of words and kept quiet still

Canis didn't seem to notice the fall on Luna's face so she continued “girl, you should read that novel, it was hot, especially the s*x part. She was staring in the atmosphere, recollecting the memories “uh…what's wrong” she asked when she noticed Luna's dull face

“What! I've never heard of arranged marriage in werewolf history” Canis said her face line drawing while she frown

“Clearly you haven't read these books” Luna smiled gentle, shaking her head.

“And the old man seem pretty striken bout it” Canis said, her face had disapproval written all over them

“You think am old?” A deep sharp masculine voice sounded from behind them

Canis quickly straighten up her back and bow down her head “My Alpha” she said.

“Dad…” Luna called having a pleading look on her face

“It's okay Luna, I've heard worse from the pack. After all, you are my daughter but next time, try not to make me the subject of discussion among your friends” Alpha Wolfric said, turning his sharp gaze at Canis who kept staring at the ground, avoiding eye contact at all cost.

“Come here” Wolfric said, raising his arm, Luna went under them do he put his arm around her neck.

“It's okay my girl, it will get better eventually. I know how you feel about the arrangement, but you gotta know it's for the best” Wolfric paused and waited to see if Luna would say anything but she kept quiet

“All I've ever wanted for you is the best, that's why your best friend is your guardian, probably your beta in the future” Wolfric sighed and then asked “Do you want to know why in this pack, the Alpha and the Luna are not true mates?” Wolfric asked smilingly but Luna gave no response. He continued tho

“Because it makes them weak. Have you read about Alpha Damon?”

“Yes. Alpha of Wolfbourne Pack” Luna answered in a weak voice

“And where is Wolfbourne Pack today?” Wolfric asked again

“Destroyed” Luna responded

“That's it. Damon was a great Alpha strong and mighty but his weakness; his mate. All his enemy had to do was kidnap her. Damon's love clouded his judgement and he used his pack for selfish purposes leading to their end. I don't want that to happen to a pack I'll be leaving you”

“Yes dad” Luna said so her dad can stop ranting about his opinions “I just have one question tho, has any Wolfling ever met their mate before their arranged marriage?”

“Yes, most of them ran away, joining other packs or becoming rogues” Wolfric answered

“Then why can't you choose another wol…” Luna tried to argue but was interrupted by his daughter

“NO!” Wolfric shouted. “There was already your sister” Wolfric was silent for a while to calm himself down “All those packs mixed with the humans, they all rise and fall, you've heard about it. You don't have to be jealous of them, or your sister. The human world is not…”

“This is not about the human world, dad!” Luna interrupted her father in a loud voice

“Oh yes it is” Wolfric replied. He took two steps away from his daughter, itch his nose and sniffled, a smirk was on his face. “You've always been hellbent on going to the human world, when your sister ran off to that world, it only increases your desires more”

“I'm telling you, there's nothing the human world has! Look at us, A city of our own our technology far surpasses human's, we got everything they hope for. THE HUMAN WORLD IS HELL!!!” Wolfric emphasized

“How can you be so sure?” Luna questioned

“I've been there when…” Wolfric answered in a low voice

“Oh, your father took you there and you wouldn't take your daughter?” Luna queried

“I am an Alpha, my father isn't. That's the difference! Now you should go for your hunting sessions, no one wants an inexperienced wolf as a Luna” Wolfric's voice faded as he left Luna.

Canis stretched her neck towards the doorstep to see if Wolfric is really gone “see, the old man said guardian”

“His poor choice of words. You should stop calling him old man, you might meet him at a bad time someday” Luna warned.

“Duh” Canis replied bot caring.

Luna ruturned all books to where they should be and both of them went out of the library.

A few minutes if waiting outside the library, a car halted before them.

The car gave a small screeching sound as the door opened by itself. An automated mechanical voice sounded from the car “Morning Luna Wolfling, Morning bodyguard Canis Hunter, where would you like to go pls?”

“Outside the city” Luna answered

“I'm afraid I'll have to know why you're going there, pls?” The automated voice sounded again

“To hunt, dumb head” Canis replied aggressively

“Technically, I do not have a head” The voice said and then continued “enter the car and put your hand prints in the space designed. This is to ensure that you are safe and know one else will be…”

“Cut the crap” Canis interrupted and went inside the car and Luna followed.

There was no one at the driver's seat but all buttons got hit and the car started, auto driving itself.

The car's interior is smaller than a regular living room, but it is still luxurious. It has a cozy space with comfortable seating, a TV and a tablet for entertainment, and a place to keep snacks and drinks. There is a retractable table for eating or working, and the lighting is soft and flattering. The fabrics and finishes are high-quality and luxurious, and there are also a few touches of bling, like metal accents or crystals. The space is cozy and intimate, but still stylish and modern.

Those are nothing suprising to Luna or Canis tho, they've been boarding those cars since childhood.

“Would you like any music, pls?” the automated voice aaked

“Hold me thight by Lush”

“Let me love you by Duane”

Canis and Luna crosstalked respectively

They looked at each other for a while giving themselves irritating faces till Luna looked away and said “we do not need music, Savage”

“Okay, if you need anything, feel free to order around my surbodinates in here” As soon as the voice said it, two mini bots came out of a room in the car.

Both of them have a tray fixed to their left arm and a human like palm on their right. On the tray are a bottle of water and a cup. Their legs are wheeled built so they more like a toy car. That didn't reduce their efficiency tho, in a few seconds they got to the duo and asked what they wanted.

Although they were ignored, they stood still beside the passengers

“Savage, what is arranged marriage?” Luna asked

“An arranged marriage is a type of marriage where the families of the bride and groom select the partners for their children”

“Yeah I meant what do you think about it?” Luna asked again

“In an arranged marriage, the couple typically meets for the first time shortly before the wedding, and the marriage is often seen as a way to bring two families together. Some arranged marriages are very successful, but there is also criticism that they can be oppressive and violate individual freedoms” The bot replied

“Oppressive and…” Luna said and suddenly went silent

“Hey, Savage did say some are very successful” Canis said trying to pacify Luna

“Yes guardian Canis. Examples are the Alphas and Luna of this Pack “ Savage replied

“See, Savage said guardian not hands maid” Canis said, flexing her position

“That's another way to put it” Savage said drawing Canis frown and putting a smile of Luna's face despite her worries

“Stupid bot” Canis commented

After a few minutes of silence in the car, Savage finally broke it.

“You have reached your destination. Before you exit, pls maje sure you do not forget any of your properties. If you do, they will be returned to…” Savage's voice faded as the car's door shut

“Most boring drive ever” Canis commented “catch papa a deer, make a nice diner”

“Come, there's a tiger” Luna said excitedly and she run after the tiger, Canis followed quickly.

Suddenly both of the halted.

They saw a flame rise up to the shy, it's quite eyes catching

“What's the flame for?” Luna asked

“Let's go check it out”

It took them a while before they got to the source of the flame.

There, was a plane on dying fire. It doesn't look complete cause sone of the part have removed while the plane was dropping and during the explosion

“A plane crash? Huw come we didn't hear any explosion?” Luna queried

“Must be the ride” Canis said reminding Luna that the car dies cancel all sound, light or smell from outside.

“Others must have heard and will be here soon. Let's check for survivors” Luna said.

Both of the hurried to the plane and checked but found no one inside it

“Wow, people are here” an excited voice sounded from behind them

There, a man was standing smiling at them and the other was getting the parachute of his head

“Uh…hello ladies” The other guy greeted after taking off the parachute
