The sun was streaming through the window as Trish came awake. She remembered she was at Jessica’s house. If the sun was that far up, it must be late, she realized and looked at the clock. Nine o’clock, wow, she had slept late. She quickly got up and put her robe on and went to the kitchen where she found Jessica.
“Good morning. Coffee is ready and as soon as you want, I will fix some breakfast.”
“I’m so sorry I was such a sleepy head and you don’t have to make me breakfast.”
“First, I am glad you slept so late. I hope it means you slept well. You have a busy day ahead. Second, I don’t have to fix your breakfast. I like the idea of being able to pamper my new daughter-in-law a little. So how about some huckleberry pancakes before the day gets busy.”
