Trish called AnnMarie before she set out on the long drive.
The first words from AnnMarie were, “I’m so glad you left. Dillon got out of jail on bail in the afternoon and went to the apartment. He broke the door and started breaking windows when he found it empty. Your neighbors called the police. Dillon started banging on their door, demanding to know where you were. When he heard the sirens, he took off. He evaded the police. Then last night he went to the hospital and started harassing the staff, demanding to know where you were. The security guard intervened and Dillon took a swing at him. The police arrested him and he won’t be getting out on bail this time. He will probably have to spend some time in jail, hopefully, a long time.”
